Has no one skied the Volkl Chopstick yet?

I did a search and surprisingly there is no info on the Chopstick other than a quiver shot and someone saying they should check it out.....

Hmmmm a fat, reverse camber ski and no one on here has reviewed it or talked about it yet? Woah!

If there is a thread i missed please disregard but if not lets get some chatter going.....

I ordered some Praxis Pow RXs but since they won't be coming till the summer of 2012, I need something else.....my Volkl rep is bringing me a pair tomorrow to look at......and knowing me when i look and flex, i will prob be too tempted not to buy........so what should i do? Wait patiently for my Praxis or say screw it, buy the Chopstick (at a sick price) tomorrow and have fun on them.....

Also, they come in 175 or 185........i told him 185 but wonder how they ski relative to a 183 Katana (Which i absolutely love but they are sold out).......

Alright end of ramble......anyone have any info.......? Thanks!

i was in four mtn. sports the other day, and one of the guys in the shop said his buddy upstairs had a personal pair. he thought his friend might be willing to let someone take them out for a day to test them out. maybe you could check out that avenue, might be too late though if you already pulled the trigger.

I know somebody who skied them all last year and spoke very highly of them.

He's more of the big backcountry booter switchy spinny type though. Your results may vary.

He did say you could make decent turns on packed snow which was a nice surprise.

That fat ass symetrical tail would keep me from it though. Plenty of good skis out there that are rockered, twin and NOT completely symetrical........like the moment bibby.

Dash spoke highly of them last winter when he was rocking them in JH. I think Dylan was riding them as well but I only went snowboarding with him so I was only talking about his 3 year old Volkl snowboard :P

Oh okay if we're name dropping then, the guy I was talking about was skogen.

I just did first names like you, so to keep it core.

    But Skogens a puss.

Anyway, no use in NOT name dropping. If the pros are stoked on them and speaking freely to a friend who isn't really in the industry then I think it is pertinent info. If either of those two thought they sucked they surely would tell me as I am a snowboarder and couldn't really care less.

PS... here is pic Tate took of Dash loving the Chops on the TGR deck last winter:

Is that what they call 'old' these days?

Follow him sometime and call him a puss

But yeah I don't think he's with volkl anymore so he's got no reason to talk kool aid either. They sound like a pretty legit ski.
