Hello everyone!
I've been browsing this board for quite some time now, and decided to come out of obscurity. I'm a die-hard skier like everyone else on this bulletin board. I live in Durango Colorado, and I've lived out here for about 3 years. My goal is to get sponsored and ski for a living. I'm better than most at the park, but I really shine in big mountain. I've jumped off some pretty huge cliffs, bigger ones than in the magazines. I can throw rodeo 7's, misty 7's, and 1080s off of cliffs.
My question is, are there any other skiers here with goals like mine? Who are the best skiers here? I'd like to ski with a few of you if you're really good, but I'm tired of riding with gapers. It's nothing personal, but I want to ski with others of my calibre.
Thanks, Ted Lancing

So this kind of trolling is still new and fresh for you? Not predictable or dull at all?
OK then. I'm sure hilarity will ensue with groundbreaking stuff like this going down. I, for one, can't wait to hear what you're going to say next. I mean, you must write your own material, rather than, you know, relying on the same haggard stereotypes that people have been dragging all over the place since the beginning of time.
Let's see what you've got, Captain Comedy.
Zzz..........

I'm sorry, your post kind of confuses me. I'm not here to audition for "The Last Comic Standing", but I do like that show.

Come talk to us when you start bringing big mountain skill to the park. How many gap jumps have you rappelled into?
that's what I thought.

When you get good at the big mountain quarter pipe techiques - like Telepath - then you know you've arrived.

Don't forget my jaw-dropping mad style in the Engelberg QP last season. Glisseur was there... he saw how "impressed" the locals were when I was done!Originally posted by bad_roo

But unlike Telepath, the QP was the injured party when all was said and done, not me.

I can ski parallel, does that count for anything?
So you can go bigger than those we see in the mags. That is a pretty bold statement. I'm realtively new to the sport, but I always thought that it's not really how big you go (unless you are going Jamie Pierre big) but it's the style you do it with. Some photographic evidence would be in order here."If there's a Starbucks, then you're probably fine."

He goes bigger than those in the magazines in the same way that Chicago is only 3" from Madison on the map.

Dear Ted,
You really seem to have it all figured out. I think Durango is a great place to get sponsered! With the remote location, and infrequent snow, and comps, it's the mecca of the free-ski scene.
You might want to hit the sick terrain park at DMR on a regular basis as it is well known place for companies to find up and coming riders like yourself. While Paradise is a lengthy trail, with the excercises you mentioned in the thread about stomping landings, you might only have to stop three or four times to make it through.
You might want to hit up the local new school ski shop the Ski Barn for a sponsor, they have a great bargain basement, and get new staff yearly to boot.
Keep it real, and kisses.

ps: It would be sicko if you stomped the cliff under 3, that's monster!Skiing, where my mind is even if my body isn't.

I once made up an alias of "Physical Therapy" and responded to a thread in which phUnk had said that he would be in physical therapy. I proceeded to post that he an I would be spending quite some time together. I found it amusing, unlike the most recent string of trolls.
