PNW - Whatup?
Maybe I've been spoiled by the last 2 epic seasons. Or maybe I just have the early season jitters. But what's up with these warm temps & hi freezing levels we've been getting. We're at near record hi temperatures day after day. We're getting Oct weather when it's Dec!
Cmon.... snow already!

I am really hoping for next week for the Cascades. Forecast are hinting at cooler temps and moisture. Please snow.

I don't know but this weather sucks and the forecast doesn't look particularly promising.

Yeah, this is fucking bullshit. I could be skiing every day. I'd like to go rip some groomers even, that's all I'm asking.

Hve faith. Did my first ever trip to US of A in v late jan-feb last year. We shared many crying stories in Dec, then it got simply ridiculous.
Did I mention Im going to the US for ALL future ski hols, around late Jan/feb at a guess.

Yeah, it sucks. Not all is lost with no snow and a weeks worth of crap on Dec 1 Not absolutely uncommon. I'm just hoping for a decent snowpack for Xmas at Flatchelor...

I cried looking around at all the rock exposed on Blackcomb yesterday.
Time to burn some skis dammit.

Second half of December was great at Alpental.
Basically a two week storm cycle that lasted from the 19th through the 31st.
One of the best Decembers in recent history that I can remember.
Keep in mind that our first big dump on the Pass didn't come until the 7/8th of December last year, before that about what we are getting now.

Came out to Seattle for Thanksgiving and a work thing. Very sad not to bring my skis. (You would think that not bringing my skis would make it snow, but no such luck.)

This year is a bummer so far, but I have a little faith. Super huge buzzkill that the pass lost all of it's snowpack in about 3 days. Wasn't much to begin with, but 9" is 9".
Ready to fire up the snowcats and go grooming, us cat operators are getting anxious. I'm just as anxious to drop some lines on my new boards, but it could be January before we see enough snow to make any serious routes a reality. I may take a small road trip and try to find some higher ground to hold me over. Fingers crossed.Last edited by Railslider; 12-01-2008 at 01:27 PM.
