    One-Ski Quiver

I'm on the prowl to find a durable ski that can really rip it up everywhere -- steeps, trees, sierra pow/crud and backcountry. I've narrowed down the field to: (i) PM Gear BRO 179s; (ii) Praxis Mountain Freerides; (iii) Line Prophet 100s; and (iv) Volkl Gotamas. Any thoughts/suggestions/comps?

I am have 183 gots 190 gots and 186 lp's and its a toss up between the 190 gots and the 186lp's. Gots are a lot easier to ski and are better in soft snow. lp's due well everywhere but are a little rough in tight trees.

I voted 179 bro, but you should look into the 179 Fat Stiff Bro for your one ski quiver.

My 183 Gots have become my ski of choice. They are a blast to ski on everything but hardpack/ice and they handle that decently. I'm only 5'8" though. If you're considerably taller then the 190 for sure.

In answer to your second question ,I think he expects you to do some searching and not waste cycles asking the same question that got asked 5 times last week

in answer to your 1st question, 180 BD verdicts for everything

I'm not too big of a fan, but I have only ridden them once a while ago . . . .

In response to the first question, i voted p100 - its probably a well known fact but they are my new crush, fuckin stellar ski. . (but, we need some info about your height, weight, skiing type / level, preferences. . . .you can't just leave us too shoot in the dark. . . )

this poll is flawed and in a big way. i'm surprised no one has brought this up yet. The praxis freerides are brand new for this year, I can't imagine many have ridden them yet, or even received them yet. Also, why are the PM gear Bros, the only one with a size. the 183 or even the 188 are definitely the fan favorite here. anything under 180 is generally viewed as too small in these parts. they might get more votes if no size was put on them.

Secondly this one ski quiver issue has been discussed here ad nauseum, if you want to know what people of any of these skis (except the praxis freerides) a simple search will yield at least 30 threads on each ski. You don't need a poll to find out what people think, you just need to use the search button.

Also, there a lot of other skis that didn't make your cut but are very deserving. the lp, vct, and whatever variation of the seth to name a few.

the only ski i have skied here is the p100, i absolutely love them, and were one of the most fun skis ive ever been on for certain conditions(corn and variable spring conditions) expect for one thing, powder, which in my opinion they are pretty horrible at, too stiff in the shovel, too much sidecut, but this is utah pow i am talking about, not that heavy west coast shit, where the stiffer shovel might actaully work quite nicely, those all seem to be sweet skis from reviews ive read and my own research, but why are you limiting yourself to those four skis, personally if i were going for a one ski quiver it would be something along the lines of a line mothership, or a 187 xxl, maybe even a obsethed

5'8 145 lbs and on 183 gots. Love the length for everything but the deep stuff. Then i wish I had gone for the 190s. So I vote 190 gots.

Those are all very different skis. Most people are going to vote Bro, I'd imagine. Or Gotama.

The Praxis will get almost nothing because, as njfreeskier pointed out, nobody's skied them yet.

The Prophets are loved by some, and hated by others. Definitely not the near-universal love that Bros and Gotamas (other than durability issues) receive around here.

    I'm not voting.

    I can say delam.

However this will be my 3rd full year on a pair, and they are holding up fine. One of the tails is pulling apart a tiny bit but that was fixed with some epoxy. Have you ever actually seen the skis in person? They are bomber. Thick ass bases, meaty edges, they really do it all. I have put mine through hell and they are still going strong. I have tried many different skis, and if you truly want one ski that can do it all, in my opinion the lib techs are out in front of the pack.

yes i have. i have seen their boards, ridden their park skis, and have hand flexed the recurves. they seem pretty bomber, but the edge thing bothers me. personal preference i guess.
