Impulse purchase
Can't believe I did it. Probably shouldn't have, but I'm a sucker for a good deal.
At Heathrow coming home the other day. They got crazy shopping at the terminals. Waiting for my flight. The electronics store has a D700. I was all set on a D300 when I got home, but the exchange rate was curiously working in my favor.
$2200, brand new. It's a UK warranty, but the place Dixon's (I assume an equivalant to Circuit City in the US) sold me a service warranty, that's international and covers accidental damage, for 2 pounds a month, cancelable at any time. Figured I couldn't go wrong.
I'm FX now. Time to buy some lenses.ROBOTS ARE EATING MY FACE.

It got better in the last couple weeks and I think they just haven't adjusted accordingly. It's still not good, but on that one particular product (and all the Nikon stuff) it made sense. Strangely, the Canon G10 was like $600US when you did the math.
Also, no VAT in the airport.ROBOTS ARE EATING MY FACE.
