HighAlpine sold some DSP Basics for $325, so $415 for the Advanced is solid.

I don't think those were 2 seasons old and I guess everybodies season is different.
So I'll ask how many days use does this beacon have and has it been upgraded?"When the child was a child it waited patiently for the first snow and it still does"- Van "The Man" Morrison

It's been used two seasons, but you're right, it was probably manufactured before that. It probably has around 60 days of use. Almost all were inbounds at Bridger. The software is the original, but I believe updates are free. Maybe just shipping costs. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Upgrades are free @ Liberty Mountain or for cost of shipping. I think your price is fair. I have wanted to upgrade to an advanced for a while, but RTR
hooked me up. How acurate are the temp and altimeter features?"When the child was a child it waited patiently for the first snow and it still does"- Van "The Man" Morrison

Firmware updates are $20:

. . . plus whatever your shipping cost is to get it to Liberty Mountain.
A local service center though might do it for . . . less? free?

Also, note that the form on the Liberty Mtn website is for 5.0, although the latest firmware is 6.2 -- might be that the new beacons are shipping with 6.2 but that their firmware updater is still at 5.0, so check first before sending in a beacon.
Then again, I didn't notice any difference in some brief testing of a 5.0 and 6.2 side-by-side.
At the time, the 6.2 summary I had that came with the beacon was clearly incorrect, as it referenced "new" features that I knew had been around for the last couple versions.
And now this confirms that the only new features for 6.2 seem to be for . . . enhanced functionality only with regards for deactivation via iProbe?--

Also, for the beacon in question, based on the older harness, I'm pretty sure it's 2.8 firmware, so definitely upgrade its firmware.

Good info. Thanks for posting. How do I check what firmware is currently loaded?
