Skied Lone Peak yesterday with Xover. NE Couly was the goal. We bailed for separate reasons of which the sum = a no go. So we waited for 2 hours on top for things to soften up. N. Facing slopes were bulletproof at noon. Made for easy going up to the summit. Gorgeous day out none-the-less.

    Softer snow on the exit.

Skied Mount Ogden Chute this morning then had Mother's Day Brunch with mom at Basin. Brunch was great, skiing was meh. Already too wet by 10AM and there are significant runnels that made things interesting. Probably enough snow up there for another week or two of decent skiing, but get an early start.

Getting the timing right is tricky after the slush & mank of a week and half ago, but today was awesome in LCC. Exposed east facing was good to go around 10:00 AM (maybe sooner) but north and west facing did not soften up until much later—sometime around 1:00 PM—which seems late when the ambient temp is in the fifties.

The coverage is still good, especially up high, and the skiing is almost heroic when the top couple of inches are soft and a little scary when they’re not. Not sure what to think about the coming week, since the forecast says that the lows will tap-dance around freezing at night. Try to ski the big couloirs or ride the bike instead???

Skied east facing this morning. True east seemed to soften around 9:45 perfectly. I didn't get any good skiing shots so here is criscam hitting a big kicker switch:

And here he is later in the day getting shoulder deep in an offwidth:

Ahh, I'm jealous. You've got to love it when you can squeeze in skiing and climbing in the same day. Nice work.

Dihedrals were completely empty at 5 yesterday with perfect temps. Weird.

    Corn for breakfast

Skied Wolverine Bowl and east-ish facing slopes were very good. Got a little wet around 11 and we set off some small wet slides that didn't go very far but still disconcerting when you feel your skis collapse into the snowpack.

Exited on west facing chute into Wolverine Cirque where the snow was still hard but somehow carvable. Always fun to get the rollerballs going while dodging ice chunks.

Looks like there is still a lot of skiing left for the season up there! Just have to go high...

No Star Tuesday going on at Lisa Falls tomorrow. Good times to be had. Choss, wide cracks, moss, wetness, beer, bbq. TRs here so you can't say you haven't been warned.

Is anyone interested in getting out for a tour tomorrow (Thursday). Thinking either Wolverine or Grizzly. PM me.

If you can't make it, but have some suggestions, let me know. I haven't been out in a few weeks.

Got up for some leisurely radgnar in Main today. Whapworth ran into us at the top (fun skiing with you man). We waited for probably an hour and half at the top for things to corn up and decided to descend at about 12:30/1 PM. Still super firm, but carvable. A little too cold today for great corn in the chutes, but fun anyways. Lot's of great corn below.

^^^ Is this your group TeleThor? Recognized the BROs and before that the camo truck and thought it might be some mags.

In any event, went up the American Fork Twin Peaks and the best you could hope for was skiing shaved ice, otherwise it was rock hard. Then went solo up Baldy hopping for better conditions and it was still rock hard above 9.5K at 3:00 PM. Still a nice day for corn skiing, just no need to gain elevation.

Skied a lap of south facing from 10500' about noon today. Soft on top, supportable underneath. Good skiing after a solid refreeze last night. Hockey-rink-esque on the other side of the ridge.

NOAA's calling for clouds the next couple days, maybe making for elusive corn skiing?

    I'm a little scared

that's a damn sneaky shot, were you in a sniper tower or something...? i thought that my camo-truck would be a sure way to blend in...

anyhoo fun day in all was had, met and skied with some rippin mags (shout for telethor), and gonna be back out tomorrow if anyone is interested.

early start ... 630ish but hopefully not as damn hard, but the lower elevations were money today even around 1pm.

few point and shoot shots from the day, terrible i know, working on camera situation and trying to care more about that, i really like the aesthetic of the finger covering the lense, trying to do some cool things with that

    cheers
