Waterproofing Hiking Boots
I just picked up a pair of Columbia Cougar Ridge hiking boots. Suede and the mesh cloth material- not full leather uppers. They state on the tag that they are waterproof already.
I am thinking of adding some more to them before wearing them out and about. I've got a bottle of the Penguin Sno-seal Silicon waterproofing in a liquid - which states on it that it is good for all leather including suede, but it states nothing about the mesh.
Any reason not to try this?Last edited by RShea; 10-30-2008 at 10:18 PM. Reason: Verified brand of waterproofing

Not familiar with that product...
You can use Scotchguard...
You can use Nikwax for leather / sythentic or mesh footwear
Grainger (sp) has a similar product too...
It just needs to state it works on 'mesh' uppers.
Do remember that 'waterproof' is a relative term as others here are going to tell you.
