Thread: galaxy 500 - don't let our youth go to waste

dunno if anyone's been biting their nails waiting for this to come out as much as i have, but i finally got a copy last night.

2 DVDs - 6 live performances, 2 bootleg videos, tv appearances and their videos are all included.

almost makes up for never seeing them play live, and having dean wareham taunt you by tossing out a song or two during the early Luna shows.

I only know one thing about them, that's a fine name.

I only have one Galaxy 500 album, "This Is Our Music", and it's great. Luna was the offshoot of Galaxy 500, I think I have all of their albums except one. The main musical influence that I see in both of the bands is The Velvet Underground.

Tuffy, what Galaxy 500 would you recommend beyond This Is Our Music?

there's only 3 albums. it's hard to say which one's their best, but most people will say the one you have is it. Get both of 'em if you like the one you have, it's basically just more of the same.

if you wanna go all out, get the box set. it's got b sides, live stuff, etc, along with the music videos.

Just grab the 4 cd boxset if you can find it. It pretty much covers most of the bases. I think it is out of print, but Amazon or Ebay may have used ones.

Heh. During my road trip back from Missoula, I threw in an old compilation tape I made about 15 years ago. One of the songs was Ceremony. Good stuff!

a strong candidate for a cover almost being better than the original.
