Tele boot sizing
If I wear a 27.5 Technica Diablo Magma that was punched out on the toe box to widen the boot what Tele boot/size do you all recommend?
I was looking at the scarpa t2x in a 28 shell.
Also my girlfriend fits perfectly in a 25 Rossi alpine boot. She wants the Scarpa Lady's t2x and thinks she would take a 26 shell with a thicker liner.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Oh and Chris Knight- this question is directly related to you posting those 27.5 boots up for sale.

i would stick with the same size for tele.
also scarpa sizes are a bit wacky anyways. me = 8.5 shoe mens, 25 more ski boots, 5 or 6 in scarpa tele.

I think scarpa still uses english sizing(for an italian made boot?)which is one down from US sizing ,
I would also try on a garmont and BD as well ,garmont is supposed to be for a larger volume foot & scarpa for a lower volume foot (backwards from AT ) BD is new this year and i havent heard anything about them
not really a crispi fan ...heard about them having too many problems

I would not under any circumstance just decide what size you are based on other boots you have, shell fitting is essential. That having been said, Scarpa's (and I think Garmont and Crispi) only change the shell size on full sizes, so you don't need to worry much about the half sizes (though I'm not sure if it is 26 and 26.5 that are the same shell size or 26.5 and 27).

oh, shoot, saw that you were in philly. might be tough to shell size somewhere. if so get a good deal on the best guess size you can, and shell fit when they arrive. if they're too big/small, don't try to ski them, put them up for sale and buy the correct size.

Scarpas break on the half size, i.e. 27.5 and 28.0 are the same shell size.

What others have said re: wide feet... if you have them, get Garmont over Scarpa.

More and more online retailers will accept returns on boots. www.Telemarkski.com has great tutorials on boot fitting and they accept returns. I returned a pair of Radiums to them and they they credited my card the day they received the boots, no questions asked.
Purchase the two shell sizes closest to your foot size and return the pair that doesn't work for you. You'll spend 30 bucks returning the boots but it's well worth it to get the right fit.

Yes, Scarpa sizes are whacky and changed last year. I used to be a solid 27.5 and the last change so that I am now a 28.0. Try them on or order two pairs and return what does not fit.
