Someone call Mark Cuban and tell him to give scott whatever start up monies he needs. It would be an absolute travesty to lose this kid to something like cancer research.

this might be the most impressive thread I've ever seen.

I hope the best for your operation. I started into ski building in 2005/2006. Seeing how far you've come really makes me wish I hadn't given up.

I'm a willing Canadian Rockies tester/researcher. If you want to send a couple my way for beta testing in Alberta and B.C. let me know (Sunshine, Lake Louise, Fernie, Castle, Kicking Horse, Red, WH2O, Baker). Perhaps we could get a ON3P test like the Bro test last year. Demo bindings with a hand to hand transfer through the maggot collective, pics and TR's a must.

for the real east coast goods, the perfect ski would be around a 185cm, praxis hybird shape w/ a waist of around 115. We need the quick pivot, we need the underfoot sidecut, we don't need the 130+ waist. The hard part would be creating skis durable enough to stand up to a full season, hell, samthaman put one of his gotamas THROUGH a tree, like through the trunk, last season.

    Either way, sick project
Three fundamentals of every extreme skier, total disregard for personal saftey, amphetamines, and lots and lots of malt liquor......-jack handy

Awesome work. Better stoke than the 48" in Montana! Have fun with the product testing this winter.

The Billy goat could possibly be a good choice. It doesn't have as much dedicated reverse sidecut as the hybrid, so would do better on hard stuff.

186cm. 25cm tip rocker, 15cm tail rocker. The sidecut corresponds with the rocker, and then tapers back in. 140/115/120

    Turn radius is about 23m.

Hopefully something like this will be quick and pivoty but still decently on hardpack.

I definitely want to offer rocker options on skis that are not all 130 underfoot. haha my only pair of non-rockered skis are my park skis.

Durability is the biggest thing I want to strive for. Skis are definitely pretty beefy feeling and while I know there will be issues to get through, I am sure I will be able to figure them out.

Hmm, what does that weigh? Something in between the lotus 120 and 105 and somewhat cheaper would be interesting for winter touring.

I need to weigh everything. Haven't done that. Interesting thing was that as I got better with epoxy, I was able to use a ton less, and the weight of the skis went down a lot. Pressed the wrenegades first, great scotts second, and while the wrenegades are smaller, most feel slightly heavier than the great scotts.

I got to check these out first hand at the Triple Threat showing at EVO last weekend.

I got to say the construction was first class..... Truely looked like a set of production skis from a big mfg quality wise.

Was very impressed.... quite possible the best first batch I have seen from an indy.

Billy Goats could be a sweet option for the EC. They just have to have the stiffness and decent running length for the icy groomers between tree runs. I think anything over 115-120 waist for VT is excessive but I know others with disagree. They'd be perfect for those epic days, get some protos over to the core/nonsoiled side of the states.

This is amazing. I am in awe of the amount of time and effort you have put into this and judging from the stoke it has definitely begun to pay off. I know you are talking about trying to get demo skis out around the country but if this starts to become troublesome due to costs I am sure people (myself included) would be willing to pay your materials + labor + shipping costs to get a pair. Could help speed along the demo process somewhat and give you some monetary help. I know I don't have many posts and therefore not much pull but if this proposition interests you, shoot me a PM. I'm in Tahoe by the way.
Man, skiing is the easy part.

    Right on...

A former U.P.S. Logger (and Colorado native, soon to be WA transplant) checking in to say...Nice Work!!!

I hardly had time to check out all the pics but have mad respect for all the time you spent building skis (and telling the story). And I'm jealous of your shop and all those tools (Lock It UP!!!, this is T-town, baby). And I love the Crystal Mountain product testing (what a special mountain, long live Crystal)

Sure beats getting drunk at 13th and Proctor! And far more productive.

edit: And a big thumbs up from Gunder doesn't hurt, either

I'm new to posting in TGR, but I have been following your story for some time now. I just want to say that it looks like all your efforts are paying off. It's totally inspirational to see your toils and labor pay off so well.

I will definitely buy a pair when they're ready to roll!
