WOW. What the band brought to Dick's this weekend was nothing short of amazing. My mind = blown. It's awesome to see the level of playing the band is still capable of. Now I've got a case of the back-to-work blues.

Overall, I thought night 1 was tops, but set 2, night 3 was absolute GNAR.

Good lord they sounded great this weekend. The Dick's is a great spot for them. #3 next year?

On a special note, I would like to give a shout out to the absolute fucktards sat night Fish side three rows back that thought dancing involved standing still and shoving anybody that tried to move in. Reversal to the guys behind them that lit up and got down with me afterwards.

Night 3 was fire. Sand>Ghost>Piper was pretty much what makes the boys so amazing...Lizards & Hood to keep it real. they may actually be getting better...

Yep. that Sand>Ghost was wild. Highlight of night 3. Crazy dance party to the left of the soundboard!! Its funny to look back and see that those two together were nearly 40 min of music, yet we didn't stop moving the entire time. And Hood to end it all...

Night 2: So stoked to hear Silent in the Morning, and then right into Mikes>NO QUARTER>Weekapaung?!? Whoa.

Nighr 1: Grind, Meatstick was the most perfect encore ever.

i havent seen the boys since 2000. ive only listened intermitantly to any of their live stuff since. not at all into '03, '04. havent heard a great deal of 09-11. but summer 2012??? holy crap. i cant stop listening. i feel like this is the best they have sounded in a very long time. tight, crisp, fun set lists, some really sick jams, cool segues. i cant get enough.
might actually have to go see them again one of these days.

I uploaded this show for some friends and figured I would share it with the masses here. This was a really fun show, especially following a ridiculous night in Asheville. Source is from my original DATs, but I wasn't the mic owner. Enjoy:

Thanks for that scan, good read for sure. Didn't know all he had going on these days. Here's hoping for a return to the Gorge next summer or at the very least some good west coast venues.

I too am looking for any pairs or single extras for MSG. Preferably NYE, but beggars can't be choosers.

Today is the 15th anniversary of my 2nd show. This was the night that I "got it." My 13 year old face was melted for life. THE FUNK JAM.

    Wednesday, 12/03/1997
    CoreStates Spectrum, Philadelphia, PA

Set 1: PYITE > My Soul, Drowned[1], The Old Home Place, Gumbo > 2001 > YEM

    Set 2: David Bowie[2] -> Possum > Jam -> Prince Caspian > Frankenstein > Harry Hood

    Encore: Crossroads

[1] Couldn't Stand the Weather jam.
[2] Take Me Out to the Ballgame and Baby Elephant Walk teases and a Simpsons signal. Unfinished.

    Whose got my MSG extras?!?!

Looking to trade two nights at the Hilton Times Square on 12/30 and 12/31 for 2 tickets to see Phish on 12/31.
These rooms normally (they are now sold out) go for over $400/night.
    Gimme five, I'm still alive!
