Well, it's happening........
Should be interesting. I'm excited. Now I just need tickets.

Only bummer is they can choose to fulfill all, or part of your order for tix. So, phans could end up with one for the first night, two for the second, and one for the third again. Not sure that would cut down on ticket-less wooks much. It would be a tough call to only get a tix or two, and have to decide whether to travel there and try to score more.
Hopefully they get the simulcast set up for this run
When was the last time you guys some them?
Been since 10/7/2000 for me

Such a good choice with Hampton!!! All 6 of the shows that I have seen there since '97 have been great. Plus the venue is just plain fucking awesome. It has been such an unproductive day at work making plans!!!

It's been my experience that Phish Ticketing will either fullfill your entire request for a night, or not. They won't give you just one ticket per night, when you request two. However, they may only give you one night's worth of tickets on a 3 night run.
I last saw the boys at the "last" show, Coventry.
The simulcast would be great. The simulcast I saw for the Brooklyn '04 show was fun.'09/'10: 69

I remember getting the entire 96 and 97 holiday runs from their old mail-in tix system, but by NYE 98 not so much luck.
I used to get so pumped when the doniac schvice would arrive in the mail with the new dates each tour, and then the anticipation of seeing if I got 3 rd row, nosebleeds, or tix at all. It's fun watching these type of these change, except for this whole ticketmaster stuff.
Too bad Phish isn't handling all of the tickets, and leaving ticketmaster out of the loop. You would think they are big enough to not need ticketmaster, as they have the demand, and the system set up.
The movie thing is a great idea for them to cut down on the demands of the ticketless, and keep the phans in the loop. Living in Utah at the time, the theaters were not carrying those shows, but at least I could stream the audio off the net.
I bet you still have mud stuck to your shoes you brought back from Coventry, if you didn't lose them the first day

Yeah, that was back when you actually had to do a little bit of work to get mail order tix. USPS money orders for each show + legal size SASEs + stress for the next month, hoping that you got everything filled out correctly. Ah, the good 'ole days.

I wore my Chacos all weekend at Coventry, the indestructable footwear.
I still find remnants of mud inside the soles to this day.

I can't see myself making it down to Virginia but I'm holding out for a broader tour to see my first ever Phish show (too young).

what do you guys think of the opening shows? Will they be kind of janky like in '03 or do you think they are reuniting with a bit more flair and will practice beforehand?

I was at 10/5, 10/6, and 10/7. YEM was great. Bob Weir sitting in for Chalkdust Torture was a little bit embarrassing for all parties involved. I thought Irvine was the best of the three shows.
I caught some post-hiatus shows, though. The last show I caught was Vegas 4/17/04, I believe.
Oh, and I'm all submitted for the Hampton lottery.

I think they're out to prove something this time and will practice and have their shit together. 6 months is a lot of time to build up anticipation amongst us fans, and they'll want to deliver.
This is, of course, if I get tickets. If I don't get tickets and can't go, then they're gonna be sloppy and weak like the before. At least that's what I'll tell myself.

Supposedly, Trey is off the smack now, too. That probably isn't a bad thing in terms of the quality of the musicianship.
