Don't get me wrong I thought he was a fine guest and I think his comedy is good on Episodes, but I don't know how he fits into TG.

I wonder if they threw Eddie Jordan in the mix because they were paying him anyway?

BBC just jumped ship early from it's F1 contract... Jordan, who worked on their F1 show might have been on a multiple year contract ? Seems odd choice otherwise?

I still don't understand why Joey from friends either.

I like Chris Harris and Sabine but I just don't think they can replicate the chemistry and humor of the originals. They have tried many times over in other countries and it never comes off. The show was more than the obligatory motorcycle or other object doing a trick over the speeding car and the Stig. I hope it is good. If they were intent on bringing an American why not bring in Tanner Foust ? I will watch regardless.

Neither Harris nor Schmitz have any real TV personality or gravity... Harris' clips were great because he had such genuine excitement about the cars, and he didn't do anything to water that down. Even in the Drive shows on TV these days, you can see that Harris fancies himself as a bit of a star now, and it only hurts his delivery. He was better when it seemed he couldn't quite believe what was happening.

Schmitz is a great driver. They ought to give her a segment called "Stars in an incredibly fast Porsche", where she scares the shit out of celebrities while doing 7:30 laps of the Nurburgring in GT3 RS. And that ought to be it.

Yup. I can't see how they could improve upon clarkson's 12 mile adventure in a Reliant Robin that left him dead in a river.

This smells really bad.

I think I have seen every episode of Top Gear Clarkson to present. And the Reliant Robin 12 or 14 mile adventure was one of the best segments ever. The more recent Peugeot episode was hilarious

Both were hilarious. The Peugeot one with him and May literally had my sides hurting from laughter.
