I've never really been a single issue voter
And I've been a registered Republican since the day I turned 18. That said, I honestly think Barack is the only glimmer of hope we have of getting out of Iraq anytime this century.
I lost another friend (with whom I served) in that hellhole last week. I just don't even know what to think of all this. I just cannot stand to see this go on anymore. R.I.P, Dan. You were a good man, and I hate that it all had to come to this.

Thanks guys. I just hope his wife and family come thru alright. Obviously they're having a difficult time, but they'll get by somehow. Time always mends, but I'm convinced these wounds just never fully heal. I'm just so sad about all this. It just needs to be over. There are plenty on whom to place to blame, specifically those who have tied our military's hands and dragged this out for maximum profit from the start.
I don't care. It's time to put our pride aside and just do the right thing. Afghanistan is another story, and we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
One thing at a time.
