I'm looknig for binding suggestions as well. Didn't feel the need for the px18. I've got old metal 997s that I can bend the brakes on, and a pair of dynastar rental plate bindings from a few years back. But since the Mavens are huge I'm thinking maybe a new pair. Suggestion? Or point me to the right thread. I did search but after 20 min didnt' find what I was looking for.

Found some info upon further searching.....

never understood the need to post things like that myself...

mavens look pretty sick, maybe a bit soft for my taste...

anyways, I have some lotus' that i threw some axial 2 14ti's on and they have worked great for me (though Im far from a super badass skier)

my roommate (same bsl!!!) got the mavens as well and I think he is gonna put some 916s or similar on 'em

good luck and enjoy your new fatboys

Seriously search, there are 15 million threads about it.

Anything halfway decent will work as long as you can get/bend the brakes wide enough. What have you skied in the past? did you like them? Start there.

I'd recommend a higher DIN, newer model. Mine are getting 916s.

    R u posting from a cell phone?

To prevent the answers from being spread out among umpteen threads, which makes it harder for the next guy who wants to find out the same answer and actually takes the time to do the right thing and search.

Also, because asking before or instead of searching suggests a self-absorbed belief that you're entitled to other people's time. Which is pretty much the epitome of acting like a dick. And when you act like a dick, you tend to engender further dickishness.

Why are you recommending high din bindings? Just curious why the din cold war is taking off and people are just crankin them up higher and higher, do most people ski so much that their ACL's are a strong as steel?

Not for the higher DIN, but for the beefier construction that goes with it. I set my bindings at 9-10, but most of my bindings go to 15 or 17 DIN.

Well, there some people on this forum with about 5,678 posts, so it's safe to say that my time is more valuable than theirs.

Anyways, you can't miss to badly for that great of a deal. If you've got some extra cash, throw down on some mojo 15s, much lighter than looks/sollys, but 97mm brakes = pain in the ass bending.

Now that the regulars have abused you, let a guy with 1 year here suggest Sollie STH 16 with the 130 brakes. If you searched google or anywhere, you would have found that in 10 minutes. I did before I bought them.

Edit: Just looked this up for you http://www.untracked.com/p2145c81b39...i_binding.html
    Great binding.

a trifle on the pricey side for many of us dirtbags, but it's good to know there's something with that wide a brake out there.

Well, its acceptable for you not to search the web, but to not even search your basement before asking . . . .

    Thanks!

What was your order number? I'm flying home from Calgary and a big tall box would be a nice surprise.

I can't wait get my Shoots mounted up with my FKS 185s, the thought of that combo gets me stocked for a sick inbounds/slackcountry setup!!!

Why are you even posting here if you don't like the climate? Sorry, no fellatio is included with registration.

Perhaps you'd be more comfortable on epicski or Paula's Ski Lovers, AltaNancy.

Yes, you rarely post here, so you're more important than others. Does the maid cut the crust off the bread before serving your sandwiches, to save you the effort of chewing that oh-so-tough part of the bread?

All you Sallys who seek to impose polite standards can go fuck yourselves. Your problem isn't the questions asked, but rather the presumption that this space should adjust to standards external to it. The community standards are posted(see #2), get a spine and quit whining about the lack of civility, there is plenty of it once you drop the attitude that anyone here owes you anything. Suck it JONGS.

Ah, now I feel so much better.

First impressions on the mavens, LIGHT! They feel about the same as my bibbys, flex is also very similar, maybe a tad softer in the tips and tails. Factory mounting marks from -1 to -5 from true center with recommended at -3
