Go Biden... that was a perfect example of why he was a great choice. He can tell the truth, even when it's not in his best interest.

I suppose humility is failure to some, to others it is admirable.

    The polarization continues.

It's starting to look more and more as if Obama/Biden are setting things up to dump Biden off of the ticket and replace with Hillary.

dude, the mango salsa on the tacos at the Whoa Nellie Deli (of particular fame among sierra skiers) is facking amazing. I can only imagine that a tangerine would be dope on the right taco as well.

Biden has always had a problem with knowing when to STFU.

I don't think he screwed up here though.

At least he knows what would have won it for his party. Can't say the same for Obama.

This has got to be the biggest joke on the forum. This guy has lied about everything from his law school standing to who writes his speeches. He is the politician who I distrust the most. I may have been able to tolerate a democratic administration (and would have atleast respected the intellegence) of an Obama/Clinton ticket

    Quote from Wikipedia:
"In September 1987, the campaign ran into trouble when he was accused of plagiarizing a speech by Neil Kinnock, then-leader of the British Labour Party.[53] Kinnock’s speech included the lines:

"Why am I the first Kinnock in a thousand generations to be able to get to university?" Then pointing to his wife in the audience, he continued: "Why is Glenys the first woman in her family in a thousand generations to be able to get to university? Was it because all our predecessors were thick?"

While Biden’s speech included the lines:

"I started thinking as I was coming over here, why is it that Joe Biden is the first in his family ever to go to a university?"

Then, pointing to his wife: "Why is it that my wife who is sitting out there in the audience is the first in her family to ever go to college? Is it because our fathers and mothers were not bright? Is it because I'm the first Biden in a thousand generations to get a college and a graduate degree that I was smarter than the rest?" Though Biden had cited Kinnock as the source for the formulation many times before, he made no reference to the original source at the August 23 debate in question.[54]

It was also alleged that, during his time as a law student at Syracuse, Biden had plagiarized a law review article. Though the then-dean of the law school, as well as Biden's former professor, downplayed the incident, they did find that Biden drew "chunks of heavy legal prose directly from" the article in question. Biden said it was inadvertent due to his not knowing the proper rules of citation, and Biden was permitted to retake the course after receiving a grade of F, which was subsequently dropped from his record.[13] Biden also released his undergraduate grades, which were unexceptional.[13] When questioned by a New Hampshire resident about his grades in law school, Biden had inaccurately recollected graduating in the "top half" of his class when he actually graduated 76th from 85, that he had attended law school on a full scholarship, and had received three degrees in college.[55]"

Wow, you guys quote Neil Kinnock. That's like a UK politician quoting whoever's vaguely involved in the green party. I'd of thought that'd of been a pretty safe bet for plagiarism...

Yo. That's a Wikipedia quote, and the problem is deeper than an acusation of plagiarism. It's also about lying about his standing in law school, and his college career. 76/85 is not respectable in my mind.

If credibility regarding curriculum and class standing is important, how could you ever vote for Bush?

The point is, if you're going to levy that attack at Biden, fine. Then you have to uphold both Bush, McCain and Palin to the same standards.

Clearly. I'll look into it. I don't think that GWB did a good job (although, I always say that we need 35-50 years to see what history thinks). While, I think that J.M. is a hot-head,and bad tempered (this scares me), I don't know him to be a liar. Palin: I don't know enough about her to pass judgment. There is no place for religious zeal or book burning in the Whitehouse, and she has waffled on certain decisions, but the jury is still out. Certainly, I question both candidates choices for runningmates.

On the speech part, you see no relief that he had credited the source many times before and that the time where he didn't was during a timed debate?

And on the grades part, who cares? I know that basically after my first job out of college noone has asked to see my grades. They just care that I graduated. Not to mention this was 35+ years ago. Alot can and has happened inbetween. Not to mention that 75 out of 84 is better than McCain's 894 of 899.

Most schools and professors take plagiarizing very seriously. If he was given an F but the teachers downplayed the incident and allowed him to retake the course, then he probably did just incorrectly cite the source. I know people who were thrown out of college because they got caught doing this. So his slap on the wrist is probably in relation to the actual crime.

I can see that you and I are completely different. To me, it's all about integrity, about which Mr. Biden has none. He's running for VPOTUS, he's not applying for a job. I doubt that I would ever vote for a presidential candidate whose runningmate has a history of lying to get ahead.

Yeah, that's your problem right there. Some people use cod, which can be not bad. But it's much better with wahoo/ono. Mahi mahi is pretty good too.

I don't know how hard it is to get Caribbean fish in the northeast. But I'm positive it's hard to get decent mexican-styled food in general out there. The one thing I recommend to east coasters who rarely make it out to CA is to ask the locals where one can get some good Mexican grub.

Please keep it up Schind, it's fun to watch you continuously flail around, spew meaningless partisan drivel, and contradict yourself--over and over and over again. Then get all butt hurt when called on it!
When even your friends on the board are calling you out on your BS, you'd think you might simmer down. But not you. BRAVO!
Biden--"the politician you trust the least..." BWA! Less than Bush??
    Of course.

Schindler, unfortunately this value of integrity is rarely binary in the political world. You have to look at this shit on a spectrum with most of the lot on the hill. People who never tell a lie don't make it in Washington.

I bet the top ten skeletons in your closet outweigh these two reasons for you not wanting to vote for Biden. In fact, I bet the top ten skeletons in Obama, McCain and Palin's histories are all much more interesting than Biden not citing a source that he already cited on multiple occasions. And if you want to fact check stuff, maybe consider starting with any number of campaign ads on tv right this second and focus less on something that might or might not have happened 35 years ago.

    Beer batter
    Halibut cut into strips

    -deep fry battered halibut
Serve on warm corn tortillas with shredded cabbage, Pico de Gallo, Guacamole, Crema, and a squeeze of lime.

To make Crema take a cup of whole milk, add a tablespoon of buttermilk, and let it stand in a dark corner of your kitchen counter for 24 hours. After it thickens stir it and serve, then refrigerate the leftovers for up to a week.
