How you doin'?
Lot's of people here seem pretty down-and-out, what with all the bitching and complaining and diatribing and obsessing over Democrat self-implosion and all.
Let's take a little time out to appreciate how good we all have it.
I'll go first:
I'm fine. Work's good - plenty of it - money's flowing in at a nice rate. My health is pretty good - no complaints about my health or health care. The weather's nice - looks like Tha GLOBAL WARMINGS!!! went away - last winter was great, this summer's been unseasonably cool. Family's doin' fine - Ma likes semi-retirement, wife likes new job, my cousin just got a new son. T3 are doing fine - pooping in their boxes, not destroying everything. Just got a new pair of skis - stoked about skiin' 'em. The truck hasn't blown a head gasket or anything. I hit a dumpster with the van, but who care's?- it's a work van. The windy season's comming. I found a $5 bill in my jeans the other day. Life's been good to me so far.Last edited by Jer; 09-06-2008 at 10:10 AM.

I found a $5 bill, too. On a shelf here. It was a few days ago, and it was mine to being with, but I'm still pretty pumped.
What have the Democrats done wrong? Nothing. The "left" media that is suddenly ignoring them because the most cynical politician in the world picked a running mate with large breasts.
Obama should have picked Pamela Anderson."Active management in bear markets tends to outperform. Unfortunately, investors are not as elated with relative returns when they are negative. But it does support the argument that active management adds value." -- independent fund analyst Peter Loach

I'm doing pretty well right now.
I just finished up my first contract job as a freelance editor and immediately got offered more work. Just moved into a nice new apartment with only one other room mate and she owns the condo so it is well taken care of. Played poker the other other night in Southie and made a months rent in 3 hours. Been riding my bike a ton with the nice weather we have been having (except for the last two days, yuk it's hot and humid).
My pops recently had his prostate removed to get rid of cancer which didn't happen so he was going through daily radiation treatments. He just finished those up and we are awaiting new PSA tests to HOPEFULLY confirm all the cancer got licked. Keeping our fingers crossed. My moms is holding up pretty well. She is busy working and keeping my dad in good spirits.
yea, I like to complain a lot, but in reality, I don't have much to complain about recently.

Well I wasn't gonna post here but I guess I can be a grouch sometimes, especially when morans and JONGS fuck up teh gear swap.
Life IS good though.
Only driven my car to work twice in about two months, been riding my mountain bikes some too. Hasn't been too hot this summer like last year and it's downright nice just now. Work is good, making decent money and everything, but I'm striking out on my own soon and I'll roughly double my income, guaranteed. Won't have to work any harder or any more either, so I'm looking at another 100++ day season. Had my ski pass for a couple months now, my quiver's about complete for this winter, and it's pretty sick! I've got a pimp-ass apartment with great views right downtown, which is a big change from rural Colorado. Last week I got digits from a real cute surgical resident at work, and she skis.
I guess I got no complaints.
Alpenglow on the Wasatch from my living room tonight:

And out the other side:

Just got back from a bike ride with a friend getting married next weekend and the wife is gone for the night. Two buddies weddings in the next two weeks and right now I'm having a SNPA. Nothing to complain about here.

Diagnostic Features:
Histrionic Personality Disorder is a condition characterized by excessive emotionality and attention-seeking. This disorder is only diagnosed when these behaviors become persistent and very disabling or distressing.
Complications:
Individuals with this disorder may have difficulty achieving emotional intimacy in romantic relationships. Without being aware of it, they often act out a role (e.g., "victim" or "princess"). They may seek to control their partner through emotional manipulation or seductiveness on one level, whereas displaying a marked dependency on them at another level. Individuals with this disorder often have impaired relationships with same-sex friends because of their sexually provocative behavior or their demands for constant attention. They crave novelty, stimulation, and excitement and have a tendency to become bored with their usual routine. Although they often initiate a job or project with great enthusiasm, their interest may lag quickly. The actual risk of suicide is not known, but individuals with this disorder are at increased risk for suicidal gestures and threats to get attention and coerce better care giving.
Comorbidity:
Somatization Disorder, Conversion Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder and other Personality Disorders (especially Borderline, Narcissistic, Antisocial, and Dependent) frequently co-occur with this disorder.
Associated Laboratory Findings:
No laboratory test has been found to be diagnostic of this disorder.
Prevalence:
The frequency of this disorder is equal in males and females, and this disorder is present in about 2%-3% of the general population (and 10%-15% of psychiatric outpatients).
Course:
It usually begins in early adulthood, and has a chronic course.

Cool cut & paste. What it has to do with this thread is anybody's guess, but cool nonetheless.

Jongy - don't you wanna share how good life's been treating you lately?

I still think there are a ton of panicky, depressed liberals out there.

I'm a bit panicky over the possibility of McSame/Phalin pulling this election off...but life is good in general...employed with a good year and a half backlog of work...house is coming together nicely...fenced half of the backyard over the weekend...finishing the second half next weekend in preparation for a second choco lab we adopted. The Ducks are 2-0...although I almost had a brain anurizm watching Purdue nearly pull of the upset Saturday. It's hot as hell here, so I'm not so sure the Global Warmings are gone in Oregon.
Damn shame, throwing away a perfectly good white boy like that

Weather has been awesome up here this summer! Last year we had 20+ days of over 95F and the whole town was filled with smoke from wildfires. Not this year! Hardly any days were above 90F with plenty of rain creating the best huckleberry season I've ever seen!! I'm talking huckleberries the size of grapes!!! So we took the lil guy out for lots of picking and I now have more than a dozen jars of the finest Montana huckleberry jam that money can't buy. Work has been a little hit and miss this summer with me having spent the majority of my time with our son but I got a job this month that will net me a little over 6K with only about two weeks of actual work. The whole family is going down to pick up their season passes this weekend (it will be Liam's second one even though he was too little to use his last year). I scored a sweet deal on a canoe during the spring, its a scanoe with a trolling motor, two paddles, and a battery for only 150 bucks! Took it out on a bunch of lakes and slayed some delicious trout and caught some cutthroats on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River. Made my last turns of the 07/08 season on July 22nd because our snow pack was soooooo damn good. Bagged a couple of peaks. Drank beers. Oh, and we're applying for a home loan this month so I'm pretty stoked about the possibility of not renting anymore. Yup, life is good and I'm damn happy to be alive with a great little family in our corner of the universe.

You know when I woke up this mornin', everything seemed alright. My woman called me from New York City. She said, "Darlin' did you sleep well last night?" She told me I got three checks in the mail. She said I got a refund on my union dues. But somehow when I woke up this morning, I must have had somebody else's blues. I swear I don't know why.
I don't owe anyone anymore money. All my cavities are filled. If I pull my hand outside my pocket too fast, I might drop a couple of fifty dollar bills! I got more dope than I can smoke. I got more chicks than I can use. But somehow when I woke up this morning, I musta had somebody else's blues. I swear I don't know why. I don't know why I feel this way.
I swear I don't know who the man is that these troubles belong to. I wonder did he do a murder? Great God what did that man do? He's a no good lyin' rascal. But I guess he's pretty smart cause he's outside havin' himself a real fine, sweet, happy time. And his blues are right here breakin' my heart! I swear I don't know why. I don't know why I feel this way. I got someone else's blues in the midst of an almost perfect day.
I boiled my thermometer, and sure enough, this spot, which purported to be two thousand feet higher than the locality of the hotel, turned out to be nine thousand feet LOWER. Thus the fact was clearly demonstrated that, ABOVE A CERTAIN POINT, THE HIGHER A POINT SEEMS TO BE, THE LOWER IT ACTUALLY IS. Our ascent itself was a great achievement, but this contribution to science was an inconceivably greater matter.

I had a totally rad windsurf session yesterday evening/night. Finally getting the hang of it all over again. It only got up to like 54 degrees today. Leaves are changing. I snuck up on a bunch of turkeys today and scared the shit outta them. That's always funny in my book.
