FS: Carbon Reynolds Assault Deep-Dish Wheels (Campagnolo hub)
These wheels, which retail at $1400, are new condition with less than 200 miles on them. Wheels are true and in perfect condition. Includes wheels, carbon-specific brake pads, Reynolds spoke wrench, valve extenders and tire levers for $900 + shipping.
Will include equally new Campagnolo Chorus 12-25 cassette and Michelin ProRace 3s (basically wheels straight off the bike and ready to roll) for $1,000 + shipping.
From the Reynolds website -
The Reynolds Assault is an aggressive, all carbon clincher wheelset with a 46mm, deep-v rim designed to improve the speed of your everyday cycling. It is engineered to withstand severe lateral force, meaning the Assault digs harder, drives faster and hangs tougher than any similar wheelset. Stiff and responsive in any situation, the Assault features an all carbon braking surface that ensures braking is smooth and sure. And, while the Assault takes any punishment you can deliver, our proprietary Vibration Minimizing System (VMS) helps keep the ride smooth and steady.
Rim Depth: 46mm
Spoke Patterns: 20/24
Weight: 1525 grams per set
Hubs: Reynolds-Specific Design
Spokes
FRONT: (Radial) DT Revolution
REAR: (Radial, 2x Drive) DT Competition and DT Revolution
Brake Pads: Reynolds Carbon-Specific Design
I've had these about a month and decided I'm not a carbon rim guy (too much pulsing and noise under braking on long, fast N. California descents) so I'm switching back to my aluminum Campys. These wheels are perfect for flat area roadies or triathletes and at a killer price for basically new wheels. My experience is they're very stiff, accelerate really well and hold their speed with less energy. The brake complaints I have only show up during long descents, which are my preferred ride. On rolling or flat terrain it's a non-issue.
