    Free Game

If you're riding up a trail with headphones on with your head down, the way I see it, you're free game for a full on smashing at high speed.

    That is all.

All I know is that sometimes I'm climbing with my head down and my heart pounding so hard in my ears, I might as well have my headphones on... I'm just sayin'....

I totally agree, its bad enough when im behind your fat ass with your head phones and gps and cell phone ringing and your going so freaking slow uphill that I nearly have to stop cause ive been yelling rider back for the past 2 minutes, but when im coming down full of rage, and your so oblivious to the world around, i"ll just give you a little love tap with my elbow to your shoulder to wake you up and make you aware of your surrondings

I just got back from Chile and Skied the coolest 5000 foot couloir ever. My ski beast has been calmed for another month or two.

Otter, you need to seek professional help on your quoting.

I'll go to anger management clinics.

same goes for hikers on bike trails. buddy and myself were riding and got behind a hiker with head phones. literally screamed at the top of our lungs for a minute with no response. was just about ready to throw a rock at him when some other riders were coming down and asked them to "signal" to him to get the fuck out the way.

I would like to add hikers AND bikers who take their dog out with no leash. WTF?
Way worse than any of the above.

    Quit worrying about everyone else.
As the descending rider you're supposed to be yielding to them anyhow.

    Sheesh.

Just ride YOUR bike and try to have some fun.

Yeah, read the memo, always do. But yielding and standing in the bushes because retardo who can't hear or see and is riding up the middle of a popular double track is kinda silly.

Maybe I'll show up at your favorite hit and lollygag around with my headphones on, oblivious, singing happy songs, zigzagging in front of you while staring at my toptube

    Lowering the volume does heaps.

and you'd rather have a leash strung across said trail? I've seen it happen, dog on one side of trail owner on the other and sure as shit the leash is between them ready to snag someone

You have to be kidding? Dog owner who is paying attention has more control over said animal on a leash than not an a leash.

Try a nice big, long, fishtailing, rock spraying skid. I bet when rocks start pinging off their spokes, they'll look up.
Or just give up on the Quarry Trail because if its not a fellow rider its gonna be some other dumbshit on foot with a Jazz jersey, gold chain and a smoke.

nope, not kidding. Agreed dog on leash with mindful owner does have better control, BUT dog on leash + stupid owner = snag

I just started laughing when I read this because I've been thinking the same thing. I actually have no clue how he quotes like that.

Trackhead... can you re-title this thread so that it has to do with Steve's quoting? It has taken precedence over your little tiff.

Steve, as a friend, I'm here for you and I will help you learn the ways of the quote.

Since you have been to Chile, it is your god given write, no your duty, to call it Chee-lay and say it in the most pompous way possible.

Ex. "I remember this time when I was backcountry skiing in Chee-lay...(you may also add something very pompous here is you like)"
