Following a dream....
I just gave my notice at my job here in NJ. I need a change. A big change. Both at home and on the job. Inspired by this board and the mountains...I am moving to Boulder...I have my place lined up. My boy moved in last week.
Trip Report to follow.....
I am job hunting now. If anyone thinks they can help please let me know. It would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to find a Customer Service/Tech Support job. I will also be looking for a waiter or bartending gig PT/FT.
Thank you all for helping liberating me and making this decision easier. No stopping now.will work for food.

Good Luck, Mang!!
Boulder does not suck. I wish I could still go to BHT&M's shows at the Fox...

Get yourself a well-deserved beer at Oasis Brewery when you get to town (and a knock-you-on-yer-ass marg. from the Rio across the street). Head up Canyon the first day you get in town-like having a whole nother world next door after hiking just a few blocks into the Rockies!
Enjoy Boulder- Great town! I miss it...

Any hikes or camping in particular you might recommend?
As for close hiking I would head to Chatauqua (9th and Baseline) and hike up between the first and second flatiron. It's easy to do and worth the views if you just moved here. Mt. Sanitas (Mapleton and 4th) is a well traveled hike that is worth the views. Neither of these areas are challenging, but they are woth checking out when you first get here because of their close proximity.
And Boulder Creek is still flowing high so either bring your kayak, or buy a $12 inner-tube and hold on for the ride!

I am pretty sure youll be psyched with your decision. Plenty to do around town..biking, climbing, hiking, and some world class people watchin on Pearl Street- and youll get here in summer which is a fine time to be in town. Also some good skiing still to be had with in an hour or so between RMNP and Rollins Pass.
--Re the customer service and sales positions...there are plenty of industry related outfits in town often needing someone in customer service (ie Warren Miller, Ski mag, GoLite just to name a few)-as for the bars there is a new joint opening where the oasis used to be and they just had an ad in the paper saying they are hiring all positions (probably need a pretty big staff to operate a place that big). The place is called the People's Republic and i think it is due to open in July. --Good Luck

Wow. That is soooo cool, man.
You are not the first and you certainly won't be the last to change your life completely as a result of this place and the influential energy of the people here. Hit the offices of the ski rags and don't leave until they hire you. Ask for Mike Kessler at SKIING or Greg Ditrinco at SKI. Ya never know.....
Happy fukkin trails, dood. They're just a few months away.

Loosly falls under "customer service" heading
Job Opportunities: I was in San Fran last weekend, and at Fisherman's Warf there is a guy who holds a fake bush in front of himself, and when people walk by, he jumps out and scares them. For this, people tip him. I bet no one at the Pearl St. Mall has thought of this yet. I also understand it is no illegal in boulder to spare change unless your performing.
