Sarah Palin's baby is really her daughter's: now with pictures!
FOLLOWUP: Turns out both Sarah *and* her daughter were pregnant, so the article was half right.
This looks like it has moved beyond "rumor" to "fact". Check out the pictures here of Sarah Palin and her obviously-pregnant daughter:

This is why it's important to spend more than a half-hour vetting your vice-presidential candidate.Last edited by Spats; 09-01-2008 at 12:43 PM. Reason: New news

Looks like a muffin top to me. I dunno... I'm not putting much stock in it.
EDIT: The "Liberal Blog Advertising Network"??? Come on... Spats, I'm a little disappointed. It's a left-wing conspiracy site. Jeebus.Last edited by axebiker; 08-31-2008 at 02:07 PM.

Is there a single picture of Sarah Palin showing her as pregnant? Is there a single picture of her daughter in those months showing her as not pregnant? 7 months into a supposed pregnancy and no-one has any indication of her being pregnant? Her daughter pulled out of school?
This story could dominate the news as it all unravels.
A full scale cover-up of presidential proportions. She'd fit right in in Washington.

I'm a little hesitant to put alot of stock inthis either. But, pics don't lie, and in the second one her ankles look pretty thin for a pregnant woman, and she doesn't really look pregnant in any of them. There are enough speculative facts to at least merit further investigation, which I'm sure some press people will do. Looks interesting. I'll stay tuned.
Shut your eyes and think of somewhere. Somewhere cold and caked with snow.

Who give's a shit about the site. Did Palin orchestrate a full-on cover-up(LIE)? If she did, imagine the hubris of a person in her position thinking she can pull something like that off.
Reminds me of Desperate Housewives, where the mom doing the same thing to protect her pregnant daughter goes to a backyard barbeque and accidentally gets a barbeque fork stuck in her fake belly and doesn't notice it. People start freaking...fucking hilarious.Last edited by str8line; 08-31-2008 at 02:38 PM.

I don't know or care about any of this and I hate to get involved in conspiracy junk, but the photo on that site, of Pallin supposedly 7 months pregnant, is ridiculous.
I'm sure she was pregnant and it's her child or whatever, but there is no chance she was seven months pregnant in that particular photo. I assume the photo is just from another time."Active management in bear markets tends to outperform. Unfortunately, investors are not as elated with relative returns when they are negative. But it does support the argument that active management adds value." -- independent fund analyst Peter Loach

Equivalent of "Sure, Bush lied. But Saddam was mean. And bad. And stuff"???
The reason this is relevant is that it speaks to the character of the candidate.
As hard as it is to find politicians with any character whatsoever, America wants the ones who aren't dumb enough to get caught telling outright lies.

Pretty much EVERY ONE of the Gov Palin photos has a thick sweater, coat, table in the way of her belly... Also, women pregnant in their 40's have a very high risk of Downs babies... and I know that Downs babies are historically small, so I'd say the odds its her baby are good.
HOWEVER, what does seem suspicious is that the daughter was reportedly out of school for 3 or 4 months EXACTLY at that time. It was reported as a severe case of Mono... but again just really suspicious!!! Also, Mom was reportedly traveling and flew back home DURING her labor... no one at the airlines was notified or aware. Doctors recommend against flying when 7 months plus and this her 5th baby, they fall right out at that point. (jk) Again, just suspicious!!!

If some of the best times of my life were skiing the UP in -40 wind chill with nothing but jeans, cotton long johns and a wine flask to keep warm while sleeping in the back of my dad's van... does that make me old school?

Right now, I just don't buy this rumor at all.
-First off, teens now are fat fat fat. Show me a pic with the daughter rail thin today and I'd think twice about it.
-2nd she had plenty of reasons to keep the news of this pregnancy to herself. They knew the baby would have serious problems and she would not want her fitness to lead called into question by having another child, not to mention one with special needs.
-3rd she's currently under investigation. Do you think they would have missed this?
-4th it's rare for a teenager to give birth to a baby with downs syndrome. They don't even test the fetus for it until the mother is 35.
-5th Palin (Sarah) is still breastfeeding. Tell me how she'd fake that without getting caught.
You do realize this is a story line right out of Desperate Housewives? I may be proven wrong, but right now this story smells of trumped up bullshit.
This is the thing most tiring about the criticism of the 'non traditional' candidates. (Clinton, Obama, Palin and others before them) Most of the time it's about something other than their record.I'm just a simple girl trying to make my way in the universe...
I come up hard, baby but now I'm cool I didn't make it, sugar playin' by the rules
If you know your history, then you would know where you coming from, then you wouldn't have to ask me, who the heck do I think I am.

I feel sorry for the poor daughter who just happens to be slightly chubby.
I seriously doubt it was the daughter who was actually preggers for the reasons bklyn alluded to. The fact she was out of school so long is pretty damn dubious, though, I must say. In any event, even if it turns out it is the daughter's child you know they will someone spin this to be something somehow "honorable" for Palin to do.

I'm not into conspiracies, but several parts of Palin's pregnancy story seem fishy. The weirdest part of the story, though, is the long plane ride back to Alaska after her water broke. She knew she was having a special needs child, she knew the baby would now be premature, and I would think she would know that once the amniotic SAC breaks, the clock is ticking. At that point, you have to start worrying about infection or oxygen deprivation for the fetus due to compression of the cord. It's wise to have a doctor check on the health of the fetus at that point.
So, what does this woman do? She delivers the keynote at the conference even though her water supposedly broke at 4 in the morning. The speech probably occurs 5 hours after the water breaks. Then she boards a plane for Alaska. With a layover in Seattle, she's traveling about 9 hours. Then, instead of going to the hospital in Anchorage, she drives 45 minutes to Wasilla to have this premature, special needs baby at the local hospital. Assuming she was able to go from the conference directly to the airport and hop on the plane immediately, the total time from when the water broke to her arrival in Wasilla would be 15 or 16 hours.
So:
a) Did she not care about the health of her infant and the possibility that she would deliver a premature, special needs baby on the plane? (Keep in mind, that the plane's crew was unaware of her pregnancy.)
b) Did she not understand the issues even though she had been pregnant four times previously?
c) Was she not the one who was pregnant?
I'm placing my bet on c).Keep it off my wave...Soundgarden

The reason I don't give a shit is because I wouldn't vote McCain / Palin even if she started squeezing out solid gold babies every hour and used them to retire the national debt.
Splat - I wouldn't equate lying about this to Bush / Cheney lying about WMD any more than I would equate "I only had a couple of drinks, officer: to lying about WMD."Buy the Fucking Plane Tickets!"
