Hey everyone, the new volkl kuro has sparked my interest, and since I'm going to be an incoming freshman at the U, I think they might suit me well. But I was wondering more about the topsheets looking like crap after a couple of days on snow. Also has anyone else demoed or even owned these skis?? how'd you like them?

Off all the strange things - there are a couple detailed reviews (including mine) over at epic. I've got about 10 days on mine so far. Great skis.

The topsheet edges are stupidly fragile, but the edge fraying appears to be purely cosmetic. As far as I can tell, the topsheet is a wood veneer with a clear overlay. Clip the edge & the overlay chips and the wood part seems to chip/splinter a bit. Like I said though, it appears the issue is just a cosmetic one. So far they've taken a few good rock and root hits and the bases and edges have held up better than I'd have expected.
