Thumbs down My headphones suck mega.

So, are headphones only supposed to last about 2 years before they crap out? I have these supposedly really good headphones by Sennheiser - the ones that look like blue SOS pads with a 1" thick black head strap - anyway, the right ear is not working anymore. I've tried everything. Typically, headphones last only 2 years. For me, that is. How about you all? Suggestions on what to buy next? I'd be using them for listening to music at work on my computer.
    Thanks...

If you use them a lot, they wear out just like anything else.
Typically it's the cable that fails and not the actual speaker.

One cool point with Senn's is that for most of the models you can replace parts. I replaced the cable on my old 425's in a few minutes as they were just unplug/plugin new.

Mouse over the "SHOP" link at the top, down to "Parts" and there you go.

If you want replacements, Beyer, Grado or Sennheisers all have good traditional designs (Open or sealed).
For in-the-ear, Sure E2's ($80-100) will be very hard to beat, except for the $200-plus Etymotic ER-4S.

Good runs when you get them.
