Thanks. I shot the "traditional", "Classic" factory butte shot right at sunrise. After the sun got up too high (about 15-20 mins after sunrise), I packed up and started driving back. A mile or so down the road, the sun went behind a little cloud just above the horizon (30 miles away from me) and put a band of shadow right on the main face of the butte. I turned out to be a much more compelling image that the "classic" shot. Converted to B&W to bring out texture and because of the flat sky.
This is the worst pain EVER!

In case this hasn't been posted here yet: http://www.presetsheaven.com/2008/10...for-lightroom/
Some really good Film emulator presets for free. The Tri-X is spot on IMHO.

I like this thread, nearly every time I post in here I say I like it more than the POTD thread...

Edit to add: Mthcam, I like all 5. The 1st, 4th and 5th are all quality, with #4 being a stunning print I'm sure and #1 not being far behind... a smidge of halo-ing on #4, but I wouldn't be surprised if printing hides it, nor folks that buy photos rather than make them, would notice.
Having said that, I like the more experimental approach to processing on #2 and 3, love #3.Last edited by splitter; 08-23-2012 at 04:24 PM.
