Getting the whippet handle off the ski pole?
So I have this old whippet probe pole thingy and I want to get the handle off and put it on a regular ski pole since the original lower half is missing. I have tried simply pulling it off and can't. Is it glued on or something?

Its pretty cool since the whippet part can be removed and I can ski with it inbounds. I want to go on a solo tomorrow and would feel much safer with a whippet.

I'm pretty sure it is attached with more than just glue. Pinned somehow?

Try heating it with a heatgun/hairdryer, or hot water. Then put the pole loosely in a vise and yank back and forth til it pops off - helps to have a towel in between the pole and vise.
Might not work with that particular grip though.

Damn. I had to boil it for like 15 minutes and then smash it off with a hammer. Can't complain about BD quality though. That sucker was ON THERE.
