Jeff Buckley
Any thoughts on Jeff Buckley?
What you liked? What drove you mad? What you disliked?
I'm listening to some live tracks on youtube. The guy made some heartbreakingly beautiful music. I consistency draw blanks when trying to compare him other artists.

"Grace" is a great album.
"lover you should have come over", "last goodbye", "hallelujah" are a few tracks of the top of my head that i really enjoy. one of the best voices ever. died too young.
there are a few that i'm not as crazy about though.
i have another cd (can't think of name now) of him with the guy he played/wrote with and it's interesting. just the 2 of them on guitar. some demo tracks.
heard the box set is good.

I got on the Buckley wagon after he had already died. It wasn't until after 6 months or so of listening to him and being absolutely floored that I found out about his tragic accident.
His "Live at Sin-é" album is pretty unreal. For any "The Band" fans, he does a pretty special cover of "I Shall Be Released". Definitely recommended.

"Grace" is one of those ridiculously good albums that you don't appreciate until you hear it several times. I also have "Sketches For My Sweetheart the Drunk" which, IMHO, is equally listenable.

Huh,
I'm pretty in tune (pun intended) with music trivia; and I had no idea he was dead.
The tones and pitches of his voice are a bit emo for me, but he was clearly very talented in both vocals and instrumentals.

This is life
What a fucked up thing we do
What a nightmare come true
Or a playground if we choose
And I choose

Coldplay did a good job ripping off his sound on their first album

Bumping this thread 'cause I was listening to Jeff at work today and every time I listen to Grace I remember how much I love that disc. I never get tired of any of these songs. WAAAAYY too tragic that he died at such a young age and before he could make a lot more music.
on the send bus to gnar town
