    RIP Ray

I was driving back from a 50 miler near Cooperstown yesterday and heard this interview that Terry Gross replayed over NPR from 1998. She digs deep, and he laughs at her and life a lot, but reveals a lot about himself, including his mother, being blind, why he is a unique interpreter of country music ( He yodels at one point ). Next to Armstrong, the most important American musical artist of the 20th century is gone.
