Weird finger problems from riding??? Help!

    Hey all!

I've been riding a good deal out here in GJ/Fruita. After my long and very hot ride on Sunday, I noticed I had some very weird arm pump like symptoms.

Although my fingers/hands don't hurt, I have lost a great deal of finger strength and flexibility. Normally this wouldn't concern me but it just hasn't gone away! My fingers are slightly swollen and my hand just feels weak. The effects are very similar to the effects you'd get shortly after lifting weights and focusing on bicepts/forearms.

I had acupuncture on Friday, think they "hit" a nerve or do you think this is just a simple overuse thing and I just need to lay off the bike for a few more days and I'll be fine...

Anybody had anything like this? I'm going to the doc today to make sure nothing really bad has happeend.

get it checked out for sure.

might be the stance on the bike?

ergon grips and a bar with a different sweep might help?

Keep us posted... I had the same problem, but just figured it was from riding rigid.

On really warm days, and if I've been up in a tree running a chainsaw and running rigging and ropework all day, I sometimes lose finger strength/flexibility and experience swollen fingers - especially around the joints. This usually subsides within a few days if the temps cool down as well, but it always weirds me out at first. Sounds like a combination of too tight a grip on the bars and a riding a lot of bumps. Not riding rigid are you?
