    Smile Today I commute...

After waiting for over a month my new commuter bike is finally in my possession. After I finish my coffee I'm going for a 15km ride.

Tomorrow is the opening day for bike commuting for me as well!! I'm kinda looking forward to it, but I might need to get a coffee pot for my office. I won't have time to stop for coffee, and the coffee here at work BLOWS.

This is a problem around here, as well. You'd think that by being anywhere in the PNW, coffee would be good by default. Not so

    Enjoy the commuting!

I been one-way commuting on a folding bike. Swapped out the 40 tooth chain ring for a 52t. I ride it home, fold it, stick it in the car, and back to shop it goes. I love it and chix diggit. Okay, I look like a tardnerd but I gives not a fuck.

It's a Kona Smoke 29. The fenders need a little tweakin' as they make a bit of noise when they rub.

what do you guys mean opening day for bike commuting? afraid of a little rain or bad weather? the whole year is bike commuting season all you need are some fenders lights and a good jacket.

    1) The Coiler doesn't make for a very efficient commuter over 15km hence the new smoke and the first commute on the new smoke.
    2) The copious amounts of road salt that gets pilled onto the roads in winter destroys shocks, drive trains and bearings - not a chance I'd rot my nice freeride bike (the smoke is in for a rough winter though).
    3) Got lights, fenders and a jacket

Commuted year round in Montana, but the Utah drivers are scary enough without snow and darkness thrown in to make it a seasonal thing for me now.
