Exclamation A-basin announces tentative opening date

"Look for us to open Friday, October 24, 2003! (weather and snow dependent)"

If you wait until Saturday, just be prepared for the longest liftlines ever seen in CO. Imagine Keystone with a slower double chair!

edit- uhm why doesn't this image work?
edit- added quotes so I am not mistaken for an A-basin employee.

It isn't necessary to imagine the world ending in fire or ice. There are two other possibilities: one is paperwork, and the other is nostalgia.

Possibly. I may check out the lines there and if they are crazy, I will go to Loveland instead.

I'm going to be alternating between the Loveland and A Basin. It will definitely be a zoo at A Basin on the weekend. Mebbe a 1-2 hour wait per run? Since Keystone's not willing to run the early season race anymore, there's no advantage for Colorado Card holders. All 10 million of them. A Friday opening day at A Basin might be ok though.

I'm just glad it's finally cooled off enough around here.

    Copper Mountain

Copper Mountain is still blowing snow too... at least on the upper part of the mountain when I was there yesterday at CSAW. They still have their opening date set for Nov-1. I'm trying to figure out if I want to buy a 4-pack (already have a colorado pass).

Good thing I don't have any skis or boots yet or I'd have to go and wait in those long lines...
