    durable shorts?

anyone know where I can find a durable (like cordura) long-inseam overshort?

I have a few old fox Huck shorts which are perfect, but the asses are giving out.

I took some mountain khakis and cut and sewed them into manpris.

I'm diggin these from Swobo. Slick in that the short and the chamois liner are not one piece so you can snag extra liners so ya always have clean one.

They're not quite up to the cordura level, although if we're thinking of the same type of cordura I feel like it wouldn't be flexible enough to ride with.

I have some Spectrum Techwear shorts (www.spectrumtechwear.com) that I dig; they're long and baggy and seem decently durable. I have the Wilson--you might check out the Gunslinger, which are supposed to be more durable.

Fox has some heavy duty shell (no liner) shorts specifically for biking (this year's version has a decent sized pocket, which is a plus):

and I've also used both Fox and Thor zip off moto pants for DH too, which have held up well. You know you want the pink ones Yentna and I got this year:

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, "Wow, what a Ride!"

yo Rontele - I can't tell if you're joking. anyway my manpris collection is already too big.

marshal - I'll check out the tld next time I'm down your way

truth - how tough are those? the outers look kind of swimsuitish

squatch - those look like what I'm talking about, and hard to beat at 35 bones

poww - do you have the knickers? their regular shorts look pretty nutthuggin.

AG - That must be the reincarnated huck short, but with superhero decals and such. as for the pink? I already exude too much sexy

absolutely not. they'll be too hot to ride in during the summer, but for now, they are great.

i'll add, despite the expense, fox epic shorts are pretty fucking good. They breathe incredibly well and have withstood numerous Rontele suckage wipeouts...

The knickers go beneath the knees for sure, the ponderosa shorts are just above the kneecaps. I never tried them but I think the stallion looks good.

^^Yeah, I just use a heavy work short (heavier climbing shorts too) over some Fox liners that have a manpon and padding.

I know the guy that started Spectrum Techwear--good guy and makes a good product. Not sure if they still do, but used to come in different lengths so short guys like me didn't end up with manpris if we didn't want that look.

They definitely still do. One of the few shorts that fit me well.

Gah! They're running a sale, and I need stuff but am poor. Fuck.

I've had a pair of those for a couple of years. I love them. The liner is outstanding, and the shorts are bomber and do well in hotter temps relative to other shorts I have tried. Not cheap.

Anyone try the endura mtb shorts?

I love the DNA shorts... They have worn unbelievably (though they have a decent pricetag on them).

Whatever is cheap at Costco. I just picked up some ripstop cargo shorts there for like $10-15 bucks.
