Bindings for a my mamma???
have some 164 bro softs for the mother, wondering what bindings to do... would really like to go w/ AT setup boots etc. Mom weighs 145 about 5'8'' and isn't very agressive, but still skis some fairly challengin stuff, all over. I think that a pair of dynafits would be perfect, they're light for her and will tour/ ski great, at her size she isn't going to be maxing these out and she won't be dropping stuff at all, she's a mamma, would dynafits be the ticket or what? option 2 was silvrettas or fritshis, thought the wisdom of the maggots would help. Oh and my mom is married etc, no pics or hook ups etc, sorry no sis or ex gf either and I searched but decided I wanted first hand advice.

we ski at targhee, have a pass there, she'lll ski there 90% of the time, and then touring would be locally, all soft snow, she isn't hitting anything knarly.

Might want to see the new Duke "light" version before you make a final decision. I'd lean towards the Dynafits but if she can wait it might be worth taking a look.
JayFive minutes into the drive and you're already driving me crazy...

would she want the step-in convenience of "regular" bindings? I don't know your mom, but the thought of mine messing around with dynafits is pretty funny...

If she wants step-in, traditional style binders, Fritschi Freeride Plus tour quite well and should be rigid enough for her skiing style. Mine stood up to some light hucking, moguls, and hard skiing without falling apart, although they weren't quite stiff enough to drive my Seth Vicious. I found that Dukes ski much better on hardpack and ice, but the extra weight and price are significant drawbacks.

Silvrettas are a pretty solid binder. skied a couple days on them felt solid drove the ski pretty good for a AT binder. But the baron (duke little brother) is still sick but way heavier. I know Ptex1 has a couple of silvrettas kicking around, talk him i am sure he would give you a sick deal. Or if you what the baron he is having a early group buy.
