Are Specalised bikes good?
Uhhhhh, soooooo.....ummmmmmm.
It looks I have sold something, my "out" perhaps, and I will be working at...a....ummmm, uhhhhh, errrr "high volume" shop shall we say. Pay is good, bennies good, future opportunities good, bike commute is good...so its all good.
Are Specalissed bikes good? Cuz it looks like I'm probably gonna be riding one or two of them as the summer progresses.
Woo, I can hear you laughing from here.
I've known they are good all along, I just like talking shit. I'm pretty fucking stoked for a Demo 8. HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!
Woah, the first time I tried to post this, it didn't go. Even the server is confused."It's too bad that a lot of people have never experienced the feeling of rollerblading in the cool air of a summer evening"

No, you should get a Rocky Mountain.

ha!
but in all seriousness, stoked you found a shop.
enduro sx, enduro sl, and demo 8 would be a pretty sexy quiver
in other news, and completely unrelated sorta, any thoughts on Kona's "magic link"
id be concerned with;
-How stiff that pivot is as it connects directly the the CS and bybassing the frame
-How well damped that extension spring is because it could create some nasty feedback
edit: and what shop Joe?Last edited by pechelman; 04-16-2008 at 10:19 AM.

They didn't have any ready to ride at Vegas, but I've gotten the talk and seen the protos. From what I've heard, the ride is pretty cool. Climbs like a Dawg, descends like a Stinky. I'm still super skeptical, it just seems like a lot of unnecessary motion, and it seems the handling would be unpredictable for a while until you really got used to it. The thought of constantly changing geometry doesn't sound that kewl to me, but the accounts I've heard make it seem pretty natural and intuitive.
I should have a chance to spend some time on one this summer hopefully.
The meat of the idea came from the Brake Therapy guy, who has a very good understanding of suspension and a long history of car and moto race engineering, but it will be interesting to see how good thoughts(?) on paper translate to the dirt."It's too bad that a lot of people have never experienced the feeling of rollerblading in the cool air of a summer evening"

NOOOOooo. You were my rock, my go-to, a source of strength in my neverending struggle to hate Specialized despite their sweet-ass-sweet bikes.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Resistence is futile. You will be assimilated!
We have had bike industry friends go corporate to both of the evil bike empires, Spec and Trek. Over time they've been happy, and the lobotomy scars have healed nicely.

The funny part is that all of them have kept secret stashes of other bikes!

The company may or may not be evil, but the bikes do rock. You can hardly go wrong with any of them!
