Joffre NW meh (the meadowskip that dreams are made of)

Curious to check out Chris's beautiful new jacket and hoping to get some turns Sharon and i headed up Duffy to the Joffre Group.

I've been dreaming of the day i could slay the NE meadows of Joffre. I've gazed longingly at it while dripping fat from triple Wendy's baconators on drives to and from the Duffy. Given the fact that it was likely to be crap weather in the alpine and given that i had enough of stumbling around in whiteouts on the Matier Glacier i figured that today was the day for me to make these NE meadows my bitch.

And so it was to be - but first the fashion show - note the contrast between the magenta red hue to this fine Arcteryx Alpha SV garment as we start the meadowskip

As chris drops into the entry chute to the NE meadows he somehow manages to make a turn despite his ultra sketchy Atomic Sugar Daddy lightweight pinner skis

Sharon wishes that she had the magenta red hue jacket but has to be content with aquamarine

Finally after the rapaciously ruthless ruttage of the entry couloir we proceed to more supremely satisfying slayage of the NE meadows

If some random snowshoer had been wandering by they would have undoubtedly have complimented us on the rad-gnar sickness of our turns... yah, brah.

You are such a fashion enabler Lee. And of course you must have looked marvelous yourself! Thought of you dissing the slut-friendliness of my old black jacket and smiled as I was buying my new bright green shell a few weeks back. Beautiful pics as usual

Another great TR from BC. You guys suck! Don't you have jobs? How do you get off for all the good sunny days?
Last year was the first time I had been to the Duffy lakes area. I was in amazed at the terrain all around the pass!!!
    Keep it up...

bad call!! things are just getting good! Sky stayed cleared throughout so high north faces survived.

Went out sunday to explore, heading north of here. doubling on a sled in two feet of slush is like trying to double on on a jetski... very hard and tippy. almost through the towel in when we got really really stuck at 1900m and we were still in slush...
    but then we found this

    lap 1

looking back up at 400m of perfect, stable, boot deep 45 degree pow

lap two we went to the next chute to skiers left, little bit gnarlier

looking back at a couloir I nailed last week (#1). booted up it with my forehead continuously hitting the snow in front of me.. estimate mid to high 50 degree range, probable first descent, called it the sastifier

You have to get high to get good snow. Anything above 2200m will be good
