Stepped outside... [rant]
Stepped outside to buy some beer and found this on my doorstep.

I live in the centre of one of the most beautiful cities in world and generally love it. But sometimes I see shit that really brings me down. Like this, and the fact that the heroin problem here is massively on the up again. Some kid was found o/d'ed in a park this week.
Homeless people are everywhere around here (mostly friendly nice people in a mess, very few are actually a problem to anyone, it's just fucked up that hey are homeless). Not so long ago the police were here making enquiries about the rape of a 14 year-old girl literally right beside my house. 14 ferfucksake.
It just brings me down so much seeing all this messed up shit. And I live in a relatively good neighbourhood. How must it be for the poor fucks in the bad neighbourhoods? Sorry to ruin anyone's Friday stoke but I feel like I need an outlet for this.
Maybe it's over-reacting after finding the evidence of someone who obviously is in a treatment of sorts - but knowing things are that fucked just was the last straw for me in really making me depressed about it all. I guess it's lucky my neighbour's three-year-old granddaughter didn't find it and decide to have a taste. The neighbour already has to check the garden in case anyone has thrown syringes over the wall (it happens too regularly, thankfully personally I have never found any) before letting her daughter out to play. I worry about letting my girlfriend leave the flat alone at night. It all just brings me down.
Can't wait to get back up into the mountains - although I can't pretend bad shit doesn't happen there too, at least I won't see so much of it, I hope... Sorry for the rant. I'll open that beer now.

Yep. Post mid-90's the heroin problem here died down and things calmed down (although I believe Glasgow got totally fucking horrible instead). Then crack arrived. Then crystal meth which, apparently never really took off. But now the heroin's apparently back and worse than ever. So depressing.

05-28-2004, 01:25 PM #7Yeah. It's such a great city, really. Just so much messed up stuff. Guess it's like any big city in that respect and I should try not to let it bother me. Sure as hell must be worse for the poor souls shooting up behind my garden...Originally posted by Tippster

Hey, it could be worse. The fukkwad next to you could be cooking meth and blow the whole neighborhood up.
I'm kind of surprised that meth isn't big there, it is cheap, easy gets you way fucked up and does not need to be imported. Of course you guys don't have so much rural cheap places to cook but that never stopped idiots here."It is not the result that counts! It is not the result but the spirit! Not what - but how. Not what has been attained - but at what price.

Apology submitted in advance.
Seeing the photo - before reading your post - my initial thought was "somebody must think Mulletizer has a problem."
Have a better weekend.
Don’t race. Leave that to the scorchers.

Damn, Edinburgh sounds a lot like Detroit, only with funny accents, syringes, and methadone bottles instead of crack vials, cooked aluminum foil and whippits.
Sucks, dude. Be glad you're not trapped in the confines of addiction.Balls Deep in the 'Ho

I went to festival in Edinburgh. Camped on the outskirts. I seem to remember a "grass" ski hill
