The whistle in the sentence, "this is what you get if you mess with us" is killing me, I hope this is as funny to others as I thought it was.

Brilliant. I have to agree the "God loves his children" CB part was pure genius.

It's all about the steel guitar on "optimistic". I actually think that's pretty tight.
And the lyrics seem eerily darker when the person is gleeful rather than afraid.
