TR: I Have No Idea What to Title this TR
I'm just not clever enough today I guess. I thought of:
"TR: There are a lot of smiles in this TR."
"TR: And Then There Were Two..."
"TR: Fly, Be Free."
"TR: Herbie the Arab Buys Some Jeans"
Nothing seemed to be just right. But the TR is still good me thinks, so here it is...
Herbie the Arab headed out to Copenhagen to buy some new jeans or something like that so there were only two of us for the day. No real plans other than ski some powder from the day before that didn't get accessed due to high lift closures. So up the Valluga we went.
Some people get scared going off the summit, so there are appropriate warning signs.
One large group got ahead of us off the summit and went down a slightly safer route to the first open line. We ducked in above them for a longer shot at it.
Can anyone say poach...
The other groups guide knew Andy and I so he held his people back and let me drop the entire line.
Thank you very much.
I returned the favor by dropping into the "spoon" line and saving some for his clients.
There was mutual knodding of heads as I blew by their guide in thanks to each other.
So beautiful back there.
The poach/pass complete, it was on to the next thing...
Andy said, "Hey, there are only two of us today. I have an idea. Follow me." Who was I to say no...
We ended up here.
With no reservations to fly we though we would take a chance and see if we could find a group with an open seat.
As the client, I caught some rays while Andy worked the other guides.
Success! 45 minutes later, an open seat, a pilot willing to let Andy ride co-pilot and $75 later and we were in.
Come to papa
Another smile
Excited to be there, not so excited by the landing proximity to the steel cross.
Andy landing the next bird in.
Lift off
Bye bye birdy.
The other groups headed for the more traveled path. The two of us sought out a less skied route for ourselves.
First pitch
First turns
The skiing was just plain great.
Looking back at the goods.
Smile
The problem with this run is the long trudge out. It can take awhile. Again with no reservation, the stars just seemed to align, as along comes the friendly Austrian snowmobile taxi service.
Two Euros later we were flying again.
Smile again.
Herbie the Arab went to Copenhagen to buy jeans or something like that. I can't thank him enough.
That's all folks.

Lucky man!!!
Didn't even need a title.Battle lines being drawn, nobody’s right if everybody’s wrong, old people speaking their minds, getting so much resistance from behind.

So, each time I read your latest I-finally-have-time-to-post-more-pics-from-that-Austria-trip, I think to myself, "It can't get much better than that!" And then, you top it with your next slew of pics.
Karma tastes mighty good, doesn't it, H?

"Oh, no pics. To simulate the skiing today, walk out your door, grab a handful of snow, and throw it in your face. Repeat as necessary.
If you don't have snow outside your door, what the fuck are you living there for?"
