    Big Fish

Best movie I've seen in a long, long time. I nearly cried.

So good it deserves to be here instead of the Movies forum.

Utards :: It's playing at the dollar theater in Sugarhouse. If anyone wants to go I'll see it again with ya.

Agreed. I love the movie, although it's very, very hard for me to watch. Far too many reminders of my dad.

I don't know what ya'll are smoking but I want some of it.

Good movie, but not great, certainly not a tear-jerker.

it was a dynamite flick, mainly cause it seemed like the life story of my departed Grandfather. That guy was bigger than life, seemed like his stories were too.

I'm not surprised at your reaction Jay, from the reviews I've read it's supposed to be wonderful. This movie is on my "to see" list...but it does seem kind of emotional so I've been holding off! I'm not in an "emotional movie" state these days...

Has anyone here seen "Second Hand Lions?" I rented the video recently and thought that was a really great movie. It's one you can watch w/ your kids, but is funny and interesting for the grownups too. I'm surprised that it has not received more attention--it really was quite good. There was a lot of sniffling and eye-rubbing happening over on the dude's section of the sofa the night we watched that one!

I'll have to agree with you Sprite, I thought Second Hand Lions was a great movie. Not only laughed my ass off but shed a tear as well.

I liked second-hand lions, too. Not what I expected at all. Looks like they couldn't quite figure out how to promote it.

I haven't seen it, but Spalding Gray jumped off the Staten Island Ferry after watching it with his kids.

I agree. It got a little slow and heavy-handed in parts. Completely unrelatable for me.

Me too. I got a some flak for renting a "kid's movie" but it turned out to be excellent (it was hilarious and it made me cry). Definitely deserved more press.

What a killer movie. This is the first movie I've ever referred to as a "feel good" movie. I've watched it a few times, and it just keeps getting better.

Big Fish is definitely a good flick. Solid acting, good story, incredible cinematography/visuals. I would stop short of calling it great though, I think it may have " borrowed" a little from Forest Gump. All in all it is a must see.

    on a side note...grown men crying from a movie ! ? ! ? ? ! what a bunch of pansies !
