Thread: Vancouver in a couple weeks

Will be helping a friend move from lower OR up to AK. Planning on hitting up Vancouver for a night as neither of us has been there before, any spots in particular I should check out?

My cousin lived there more than a couple yrs ago and said da kine cafe was worth a visit, but I heard it got shut down. any other like-minded places?

What are you looking for? Good restaurants? Good attractions? Cafes? Bars? Clubs? All of the above?

cafes / restaurants probably. we'll spend probably 6-7 hours there but then back on the road.

For Cafes, there's lots of good stuff... Kits is nice (South side of False Creek (downtown) in Vancouver), and Lonsdale is also pretty wicked (Along the water in North Vancouver). Those are both pretty awesome communities and have tons of good cafes.

One thing I can recommend, is if you're going to going through Van. in the morningish, the 'Bakehouse' in Edgemont village (North Vancouver), is pretty awesome. They sell all sorts of random baked stuff, but it's pretty amazing, and a cool little place to check out.

I think they are looking for a different kind of "cafe". I don't the the Dekine has re-opened, sorry, some otheres here may know of something similar...?

Jeez, if your looking for a place to smoke dont bother going into a damn cafe.

I hate it when I see tourists walking along the seawall and taking pictures of BUILDINGS and the downtown rather than turning their arses North and taking pictures of what were known for.

If you wanna smoke: Step 1, Get some first. Dont go to sketchtown, but rather find someone that doesnt look sketchy and/or hit up any local beaches/parks. People are chill. Step 2. Get some Rizzla's. Silvers are preferred. Step 3. Go to either Stanley Park, the view from Cypress Mtn(if your willing to step out of the central city), or some other nice place in the city with a good view. Step 4. Light that shit, smoke that shit, pass that shit.

Theres no need to be super sketched about smoking in Van, publicly. People know, people are chill, and cops dont do much other than a slap on the hand.

Now, if you were looking for actual "hang out" spots in Van just to have a coffee or a bite to eat well.... then dont bother with what I just said and go with whatever you decide on while rolling through.... Try some Bubble-Tea?....
