Is it brutally hard mnt? I'm planning on coming up to SSV on Saturday to check out the Dive. I think I have a free day. Is it worth the time/gas? Louise any better? I haven't been to SSV/LL since ~Feb 13 when it was nice and soft.

    Thanks for info

    it's all firm.

dive is not hard, like mens downhill hard at LL, but sure not soft and fluffy.

It is Styrofoam ish, you can get an edge, not spring softened, will sure not be slush, but it is nice to get into some long steep, quiet terrain again.

I'll be skiing on Thus with some buddies and can update then....

There were some softish turns to be had at KH on north aspects. Did laps of CPR north side then fuez bowl repeat. Revie is supposed to still be good.

We need snow. I've been mountain biking more than skiing the past month.

They need to unlock the tennis courts in Calgary and just admit that winter is over.

Doug, how's the cabin coming along? Is the snow melted down in the valley?

revie is ehh, no snow so not really worth the trek into north bowl (or rather out of), south bowl is stuck in the melt/freeze cycle. i was at kicking horse a couple of days ago and had a great time, chutes off cpr ridge and the ones into fuez bowl are all firm but nice. lotta rocky entrances though.. that place needs two more lifts and it would be amazing.

Interior BC is pretty much bad all over right now. We had 25cm last week at Kicking Horse which made that week an awsome touring week (like every week ). But right now we are on our knees begging for some white stuff.
This hasnt been a very good year for Kicking/revy/LL/SSV. Still I have had more memorable days riding here this year than last year in Whistler with 14m of snow. Kicking Horse rules the PNW and dont need any lifts. That would totally destroy the place. But I agree, if you dont plan on touring here you might as well head straight to revelstoke. Because the inbounds here suck...tracked out quicker than ever. Good terrain but really small. Luckuly the really good stuff out of bounds stays good for a loooong time thanks to little crowd and good low temperatures.

I can say that I have redifined what "steep" in North America is after a season in Golden.

    There's always straight lining

The Lake was ok on the backside chutes today. The wind picked up quite a bit and blew some snow in there in the early afternoon. Everything else there was lame though. Back to Sunshine for Wednesday and the rest of the week.
