    07/08 K2 PE vs. 07/08 Line Anthem

Ok. I have to get a new pair of skis after finally destroying my trusty Head Monsters last week. I am on a budget and came across two awesome deals on the above mentioned skis ($200 for the Line, $225 for the K2). Now I need help deciding on which ski. These skis will never set foot in the park, I don't swing that way. So why am I getting park twin tips? I said I am on a budget and these were a good deal.

I mostly ski Loveland in Colorado so variable conditions are for certain almost all the time. Love the Ridge, the bowls, and the steeps. Want something good for All Mountain thats also good in the pow. I've heard the Public Enemies are a good all mountain ski, just don't know too much about the Line Anthem's. Any info?

    Thanks
    Joe

well the anthems are a lil bit wider at 93 in the waist vs the pe's 85, so you'll get a little better float out of them. the pe's are stiffer though, so they will be more versatile for you. unless you're into jibbing off natural features i'd go pe if i were. if you're not going in the park ever or very little the pe seems the better choice. i personally like the anthem better, but it doesn't seem suited for what you are looking for

btw where are you getting that detail. i missed the anthem's on SAC and am looking to score a pair.

I would think if you are willing to go up to 300 and look at used skis, if thats in your budget of course, you would be able to find something fatter, more versatile, better all around. That being said, I would lean towards to the pe's. I know a lot of friends back east who ride them and love them. The lines are soft, especially coming from the monsters, so I second the pe's.

Well my friend that is exactly where I got the Anthems and I bought the PE's at REI. Now I just have to decide between the two. I will make my final decision when the Anthems arrive. But if I go with the PE's and you are interested I will have a pair of 171cm Anthems unmounted and a pair of Rossi Scratch 110 WB bindings NIB that I will be trying to get rid of. I almost want the Anthems just based on the damn graphics. The wolf graphic reminds me of those sweet ass mystical T-shirts.

I've got a pair of 06/07 PE's with bindings for $225. Check my post in Gear Swap.

I have the PE's (mounted +4.5) Out of all my ski's I use these the most and they perform quite well at everything, except for powder conditions above 6 inches. They hold a edge quite well in hard pack for a twin tip as they are rather stiff, however if you spend alot of time in soft snow you might like the Line's better with there wider waist and I belive they also have a softer flex.

No experience on the Lines, but I have PEs mounted on the line and they're my go-to ski when there isn't a substantial amount of fresh snow. They handle deeper snow well, but I have other skis when I know that's what I'll be on.
