Ski similar to pocket rocket?
Ive been borrowing soul_skier's 185 pocket rockets for the past 2 months or so. Ive been on them only a few times, but after today in some light pow in EC trees i kinda want a pair of similar skis.
What newer skis are similar in dimension, stiffness (or lack of) and weight? These would most likley see some light touring binders, naxo21s or frichisLive

Bluehouse MR=125/93/120mm
PR=122-90-115
Pretty close, I think the MR is lighter too. Wife tours w/ dynafits on her MR's.

In my experience the rossignol scratch skis are pretty similar in flex. The scratch BC (122-88-115 I think) will ski almost identically - perhaps with just a touch more stiffness there when you need it. I think its called the scratch screamin' now.

I have heard the discontinued Fischer Atua described as a PR but better in every way. The Watea 94 and/or Misfit appear to replace it.

The Scrambler Custom from 2 years ago is similar in weight, dimensions, and slightly stiffer, and Cooltsi has a pair on sale somewhere on here really cheap.

Someone else pointed this out a while ago, but these are both good deals if you can stand the telemark topsheet:

The scrambler is a decent match, my PR had alot of days on them when I got rid of them so the Scrambler feels a fair bit stiffer. I'd say softer medium, around 3+ish. The 180 feels like the PR 185 in length. A bit more shape in the toe and a hair less underfoot but the same turn radius brings the ski faster into the turn, easier to inititate.

I second the Bluehouse MR recommendation. I have a pair of 179s with 912s and the setup is ridiculously light. They've been a lot of fun so far this year. Definitely remind me of PRs

Third for the ARV. It's like a little stiffer and more durable PR.

Try the Line Profit 100s. a little stiffer and a little wider (I think). LOTS more stable at speed and better at crushing mank. I like'd 'em way way way better than the Blue Noodles (pocket rockets) that I thought were too soft.

ARV in a 185 is definitely similar to a pocket rocket.
It's not similar in the sense that it's: woodcore, durable, poppy, better edge hold, stiffer under foot (i think).No longer stuck.

i might have to take a look at the ARV's. My mantras are near death, and i want bigger. So when cash finds its way into my life again ill be getting some 183 Bro stiffs. But im thinking another softer slightly narrower set for more EC pow days. The mantras are fun, but heavy, so not as fast in the trees. The PRs are the first buttery pow skis ive been on in a long time, and theyre sweet in deepish tight trees

fifth for the ARV. And I'd add scott santiago mission to the list, albeit their shovel is more efficient than PR's
