    Lightweight bindings

Who are lightweight bindings? Salomon 912ti, Salomon Z12ti or Marker Jester?

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm not a lightweight binding.

I'm not sure bindings are able to type, so they might not chime in, but they're out there.

Dont' know about the Jester, but I ski the 912's all the time. Never had a problem with them, and they're light as shit.

The 912ti work for me. But i'm a small guy. If you are a huge Russian superman you might want something with less plastic.

If you're not climbing up the hill than why the f would anyone care how light there binding is?? Did you take physics? Newton is your friend in this sport, buy somehting durable that keeps you in the ski. (Jester) The titanium heel rail on the salomon breaks... All the time. At least they have a 5 year warranty.

I love backcountry and i have many uphill. Also i have agressive skiing. My DIN is 11din front and 9din back. Therefore i want lightweight and strong bindings.

P18's, at 5.5 lb, are lighter than some 12 and 14 din bindings. Not bad for a binding that goes to 18. ZR18's and 180 pro's are fractionally lighter at 5.25 lb.

Most plastic 12 din's are in the 4-5 lb range. The ones that use more metal are heavier.

The PX18 is heavy at ~7+ lb.

head/tyrollia mojo 15 is a bomber binding and much lighter than its immediate competitors despite having plenty of metal : )

    +1.

I've only been skiing Tyrolias again this season, for the first time in 20 years, but I've been highly impressed with my Mojo 15s and d10 FF17s. Solid lock-in, excellent hold, released when I needed them to, lighter than most of the competition, and available at bargain prices, at least in the US ($100 for the Mojos, $60 for the d10s). I can't speak to durability, though.

Not so sure of the metal content....late time I checked, the housings are mostly plastic.

The 18 and 20 din tyrolia's have metal housings and are much heavier...
