i wish the ted thing ended differently. you have to suspend disbelief to buy that result.
say what you will about jesse, that fucker's loyal.

Great episode, again! Was this the season (series???) finale? It could quite naturally end here, and Walt´s descent to madness could point that way, but can´t be too sure about anything.

Lots of great comments and keen-eyed mag observations.
I wonder how Walter will get his power back?
Remember when he went into the Mexican bad-ass's office with the Mercury-Fulminate crystal and blew the shit out the place?
He is the Mang, he will somehow get his groove back on and prevail, and the guy who tazed him I predict will end up in a barrel in the desert....

Damn, it almost feels like they could end the series right there and it would totally work.
Yeah, it appears we were definitely off in the woods on that one.
It would have been more fun if Ted had become Skyler's prison bitch, but unfortunately it doesn't work with no more money to launder. Speaking of suspensions of disbelief, IMO Saul seems like the most improbable character on the show. I don't see any way a guy could be that dirty and that high profile in real life and not have been imprisoned a long time ago.
The way Saul was berating his guys I think it's pretty safe to say he's dead.

Since it appears that Ted killed himself, does that check to the IRS ever get sent?

it made no difference that the check got sent. walt would never see the money again because even if the check didn't get sent the money was in ted's bank and would have gone through probate and most likely been seized by the IRS. the whole thing with sklyer giving him the money was idiotic.

IF ted is dead then the IRS will eventually get the $ and will probably investigate where the $ came from, which means they might think ted was/is a drug kingpin (his finger was twitching and no one said he was dead,, i would not be shocked if ted makes a reappearance) irs and dea would naturally interview/investigate all of teds' employees.. yeah, skyler was idiotic
what's so funny about peace, love, and understanding?

walt sent it at the end of last show. Something about that prolonged insane laugh.. the despair/ horror of realizing your whole house of cards had just fallen down. powerful scene.

The finger twitch doesn't mean much, but that's true that no actually said he was dead. Thinking about it more I think Saul would have been freaking out a lot harder if he had died, so I'll revise my position and say there's at least 50/50 odds that he just knocked himself out. I'm surprised they weren't more definitive on this.
pointedem - Yeah, incredible acting by Cranston in this episode. Aaron Paul and Vince Gilligan were on Fresh Air maybe two weeks ago. Apparently Aaron Paul's mom was a huge Malcom in the Middle fan and absolutely flipped when she found out he was going to be working with Cranston.

ted could be coma, or paralyzed neck down
Gus or Hank - someone is going down before the end of the season.

An interesting interpretation. Did you come to that conclusion because of the "Hermanos" in Dos Pollos Hermanos?
I actually went to the AMC website for Breaking Bad to see if there was something that referred to the Gus/Max relationship to validate your assertion.
In the synopses I read, Max was always referred to as partner, never brother.
Also, looked up the Tuco character profile while I was browsing and saw this quote that I hadn't seen in the "euphemism" thread: “This kicks like a mule with its balls wrapped in duct tape!”

I just read about the oranges thing on that episode recap link from a few pages back. In light of that, RIP Teddy.

OK. I could be totally misinterpreting, but in the episode where the partner/brother gets whacked (which, if I correctly recall, was the only time we ever met him?), it seems to me there was some direct reference to their relationship. I walked away from that episode presuming everyone knew that was the case. It seemed really obvious to me for some reason. I'd have to watch it again to see where that revelation was and perhaps I'd see something different. Is it bad to watch Breaking Bad on acid?
Possibly it was because of the 'hermanos' thing.
And.... why would Gus keep going to the nursing home to fuck with Hector if there weren't some seriously personal aspect to what had happened?
