Fullface: Why not like a football helmet?

I could never wear a fullface, I generate too much heat and sweat already and half the time I can't see even with the Smith Turbos, but I don't relish the thought of mashing my face into a tree, either.

Why couldn't you have a facemask like on a football helmet or a hockey goalie's helmet, that allowed full airflow and also gave some protection from impact?

Is there some reason or would it just look too geeky?

    Just wondering.

The idea of a tree branch stuck in a football style facemask while skiing down a hill at 30 mph sure seems like a definite negitive to me.

Yeah that could be a downer, I agree.

Better than mashing your face into a tree at mach looney, though, no?

    Yeah but more substantial.

    More like a linebacker's facemask.

Why not just wear a football helmet while skiing? Sounds like an idea for LBD ...

Can we start an Iceman: "Things I ponder" Forum?

of course this would definitely add to Arty's linebacker credo.

I saw a guy skiing with a motorcycle helmet last weekend. At first it seemed ridiculous; but he had full face protection, better impact resistance, plus no need for goggles with the visor down. You'd have to deal with the extra weight, and mocking though.

How about a hockey helmet with an Itech Full Face Visor http://itech.com/default.aspx?itechA...&intro=player? Might have issues with fogging, but it will keep that mug pretty as always

Fullface helmets of design different than the classic motocross design don't accommodate goggles well. That's why we need the catcher's mask mesh with a nice goggle port.

Id say a players hockey helmet with a cage (like they have to wear in college or minor hockey) would be the least ghey looking.

    Adult helmet
    Ages 6-14 helmet
    Ski helmet

    Basketball helmet
    Gardening helmet
    Visor helmet

No, photo courtesy of Cornbread. We were laughing at the guy on superbowl sunday. He had the camera ready.
