Ok, Icelantic Shaman 173 . . . . . ?
so im looking at the Icelantic Shaman 173 as a pow ski, i live on the ice coast and having a designated pow ski is not very practical exept that this deal seems to be great. I have a couple questions about it though. the skis were demos this year and dont have a lamination sheet, is this a huge problem or can I put one on at this point? How do these skis handle in the trees?
I'm a level 3 skier, 5'10 200lb (light footed if you can believe it) and would use this ski solely for the knee deep sugarloaf pow and a week in snowbird every year. ive got a great deal lined up . . . . as its said around here: "should i pull the trigger?"
p.s. i know you guys are gonna say i should ski something longer . . . . .i like shorter skis (169 Bridge / 165 BD havoc = current quiver)Last edited by Sloafer11'; 02-11-2008 at 07:10 PM.

I just mounted up a pair of 173 Shamans +1. Will take them out tomorrow so stay tuned. I took the 161's out the other day as a demo and aside from the fact that they had no tails, they were a blast. In fact, I would say they are made for tree skiing. Stay tuned.

I have the 173 and use it at snowbird as my powder ski its not just for trees. I had prophet 130 at the begining of the season and sold the Prohets becasue I like how the Shamans skied in the powder over the prophets. I am 5'8" and 190lbs this ski is also great in the spring slop and not to bad in the crud I have written a couple of reviews here also if you check on www.levelninesports.com and look at the 173 write up its mine. I love this ski and would recomend it in powder it feels bigger than its size.

If ski companies didn't make new skis every year I wouldn't have to get new skis every year.
