    Neat-o!
Those boards are priced pretty good if anyone wants 'em.
BTW is that just wood? cool idea, not sure of the applications.

seems to be a medium flex with a softer tip and a stiffer tail. not burly but def. not a noodle.

Might be fun with that shape in deep snow. My Lunar Landers are stiff as 2x4's and don't see an awful lot of hill time as I'm too weak to bend them, even at 6'3" and 195 lbs.

Metal or 'other' edges? Anxiously awaiting your impressions.

I searched TGR for lightning boards because I bought some cheap off eBay for my wife.

    thread: http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ghtning+boards

So, ski them. If they break, get new ones and ebay them. Might even make a profit.

The ones I bought for my wife were the Eight K's and they are stiff as hell. I mean STIFF! Wife would have nothing to do with them. She didn't fall in love with that ash grain like I did.

My same thoughts... it barely looks like they have any edge at all. And in the side profile it sort of looks like one edge goes all the way to the rise of the tip (left) and the other doesn't quite make it Not that you need metal edges in deep pow, but still nice to have. Price is definitely nice though.

I flexed and fondled these before mtskier mounted them and I think they will be sweet. Stiff (not b-squad stiff but stiffer than goats). The base doesn't look like it will take wax well, but I think they are sweet looking. Why don't more companies do an all wood ski with clear topsheet?

Only down side is that they didn't get mounted with demo binings!!!

Also, each ski is a different, so the weight is not consistant with each board.

finally skied these bad boys on friday at Lost Trail. deepest resort day of the year (3 feet). they slay pow. i liked the width, length, and weight. quick in the trees and stable dropping 10-20 footers. the rockered tip destroyed everything in its path.

even though each ski has a different weight and tip ramp (length and angle) i really didn't notice the difference at all. they don't carve at all, but that is due to the shape more than anything and not why i have this ski. cat tracks were a little slow due to the bases not accepting wax very well.

a big head turner and conversation starter. overall a pretty sick pow ski and you can't beat the price.

    video to come.

Once again, said something I immediately regretted. So I'm changing it.

mtskier - Nice video, you ski good. I am curious, how are those bases? The bases on my Eight K's just don't seem to suck up wax like they should. Lightning boards.com says the bases are DuraSurf sintered. I don't know DuraSurf from... but sintered bases are supposed to absorb wax better than extruded bases. I don't know enough to know.
BTW: Those polycarbonate edges are sharp, cut my thumb on 'em. See how they do.

I bet I could show your wife some stiff wood that she couldn't resist.
