Tuning the front derailer
So my front derailer rubs and shits or it doesn't rub but doesn't shif onto the big chainring. I fiddled with it a bunch but I still don't seem to be able to do anything, could it be the fact that I have shifters for the old 7 speed system and this crankset is 9 speed? Should I go get new shifters? Is it hard to chang out shifters?
Its not that I suck at spelling, its that I just don't care

Adjust your limit screws.

Describe the derailer rub in more detail. You may be too strong for the frame and the rubbing is the result of excessive bottom bracket flex.

the chain rubs on the inside of the derailer, I don't think its me flexing the bike because the chain rubs even when the bike is on a stand, the way I have it right now is it works fine on the granny gear and the middle sprocket, but won't shift up to high gear, its an LX derailer btw, a specialized crank set and an access frame
