Sty/Stye - anybody ever have theirs removed?
So I have this stye on my upper eyelid. Wasn't really bad for a while (did some warm compresses and it went bascially away)-- then two days it came back huge on my upper eyelid. Eye doctor perscriped zylet (anti-inflamitory eye drops) and warm compresses for a week and then scheduled a removal of the stye for next tuesday.
Anybody ever have one of these removed?
I'm not too concerned but I'm wondering what the process is. Is it just draining or do they actually cut the thing out.

Wow, I think I know what you're talking about and yeah, I had one removed about 15 yrs ago. I don't actually remember that much about it but it wasn't bad. Had done the hot compress thing forever and it wasn't going away and looked like a little pea under my eyelid - gross. I had another later that year that I was able to resolve without surgery, and I've never had another. Weird.
Anyway, it was uncomfortable and a lil scary when the dr flipped the eyelid inside out and came at my eye with a needle (or knife, I can't really remember). But it was over quickly and recovery was not memorable. So don't sweat it.

Just had it removed.
Very intense with the needle in the eye and such.
Otherwise it wasn't so bad.
